Shatei Kyokufuri – 8

PAGE 1

A weapon skill that only activated when you were using it might take some getting used to.

However, this was less about force and more about hindering an enemy. It widened the possibilities in terms of strategy.

If there was one thing that I wasn’t keen on, it was the design.

It was kind of furry. Almost like the leg of a spider.

Sort of gross…

The string seemed to be made of spider’s web, and felt very strong.

I was happy about that.

The game didn’t show you the numbers, but the weapons did have durability.

Using them carelessly could result in them breaking, so I had to be careful.

And I also had to choose weapons with high durability.

“Well, when I keep getting stronger, it makes me feel very confident…”

I muttered to myself.

Basically, I wanted to challenge a boss.

I didn’t know if there were any bosses in this field, but I wanted to try and kill something that would usually be considered ridiculous at my current level.

As I’ve said before, there is still no penalty for dying.

So it was time to go deeper into the forest.

 ◆ ◆ ◆

And so I half-hearted walked deeper into the forest.

It was thick with trees and so the light was dim. And yet the sun shone down right in the spot that it stood.

Either there weren’t trees in that area, or they had been torn down.

A gorilla.

A giant gorilla.

It was lying on its side as if it owned the forest.

Wait a minute. A normal size gorilla was strong enough to kill a human. And this guy was how many times larger than me?

I felt like I would be thrown into the air with a flick of its finger.

And its black fur looked even tougher than that of the bears.

Would my arrows even pierce it?

Should I run away?

Even though this was a game, I didn’t want to experience being mauled by that thing. I might be scarred for life.

In fact, there had been stories of such things happening once VR games became popular.

Supposedly, measures had been taken, but I wasn’t sure…

No, no. Why was I just thinking about losing?

My whole strategy involved preventing enemies from launching a counterattack.

And so it didn’t matter how much power an enemy had.

I climbed up a tree so I was in a position to see its back. Then I carefully scanned the area to make sure that there were no other monsters that could disturb me.

There had been quite a lot of monsters when I was on my way here, but they seemed to have gone.

Perhaps they were too scared to get close to the gorilla.

Well, it just so happened that this gorilla was going to die without ever being able to retaliate.

Yes, it will never even know what hit him…

…Please let this work. Please.

  1. @Photo Well I kinda agree with you on how the bow looks kinda cute.
On the other hand, it might just look like a giant leg, that was pulled off of the spider.

So might end up looking kinda grotesque.

  2. Thanks for the chapter desu~

Haha gorilla won’t know what hit him

Gorilla will be like: Uho? (What…?)…Uho!? (WHAT!?)

[And so I half-hearted walked deeper into the forest.]
    * half-hearted —> half-heartedly
