22 – Elyzium
Elyzium.
It was a new type of ore that had been discovered within the past few years.
To be precise, until recently, it was assumed to be a type of mithril.
However, due to advancements in magic engineering technology, it became clear that elyzium was a substance that had evolved from mithril after hundreds of years.
It was also called sky stone.
A rare metal commonly used as a central component in magic circuitry.
“But what does that have to do with gray spiders?”
“Researchers recently made the discovery that they tend to like the magic energy patterns that are emitted from elyzium. In other words…”
“If there are gray spiders, there is also elyzium nearby?”
Aize nodded.
To be precise, it was just a possibility. However, gray spiders do not live in hordes. And so if multiple spiders had been sighted, then it seemed likely that there was an elyzium vein there.
“But, how did these men find out about it?”
“The records of the church or defense team are submitted to the landlord.”
Enya and Tor nodded.
“And those records are sent to the government, and published through the guild. It would not be difficult to look it up.”
“Hey, wait. If anyone could look it up, wouldn’t others have realized it by now?”
However, that had not happened.
If the information about the gray spiders was shared, surely some investigation team would have been sent.

“The mostly likely scenario is that some government officer has been bribed.”

Father Ralca agreed with Aize. Enya and Tor were stunned.

Tor said as he patted the sword at his belt.
“Besides, it’s not as if we have been doing nothing during these past few years. I might be better than you with a sword now?”
“Both of you…”
Suddenly, Aize felt a hand placed on her shoulder.
When she turned around—she saw the other, tall friend.
“I think they will go no matter how much you protest. Of course, so will I.”
“But I…”
“No matter how dangerous it is, when it is all finished, I do not want to regret the fact that I didn’t do anything.”
Aize was silent.
It may be dangerous. She didn’t want to see her friends get hurt because of her. So she was both happy and afraid.
