Tilura thought of a name

“Yes, father. Tilura. A familiar is not just some servant. You cannot force it to do things, you know?”
“Yes, of course! Just like Sherry, we will be good friends!”
“Wuff?”
“Uh…Tilura. Leo thinks you forgot her.”

Tilura’s reason was simple. She thought the Copper Eagle felt nice.
Mr. Ekenhart seemed a little conflicted about this. But I suppose we should have expected this given her age.
It would have been rather shocking if she said that her reason was for the glory of her house or for the profit of the kingdom…
Besides, she did not know what it was capable of.

“While Leo is also a friend, she is mostly someone I respect highly!”
“Respect… So that’s what you think, Tilura?”
“Yes! I wish to defeat monsters as well as Leo some day!”

Perhaps it was because they trained together, and she had seen Leo fight against Mr. Ekenhart?

I felt the same as Mr. Ekenhart. It was surely impossible for a human to gain the kind of power that Leo had… Though, I suppose it was fine to have her as a goal.

“Well then, Lady Tilura. That monster… The Copper Eagle. You should give it a name. And if it accepts it, the contract will be complete.”
“I understand! Uh… A name…?”
“Yes. Lady Claire did the same with Sherry. Originally, it was done by force, after defeating it in battle. Back then, most monsters refused the very idea.”
“I see. Well… a name, a name… What about just calling it Copper Eagle?”
“That is its species. And not a name. Besides, it is just something we humans started using without consulting them… Speaking of Copper Eagles, they are very powerful when flying in the air, and are great at using magic. And with their large bodies, they swoop down suddenly from the sky and attack their targets before they know what hit them. ”
“Is that so. Hmm…what name should I choose…?”

He had been standing to the side and waiting for the opportunity. And so once the moment came, he stepped in and began to explain everything.

Speaking of names, Liza had named Fen and Riruru… But she clearly had no intention of making them her familiars. And neither did they wish to become hers.

“Tilura. Do you not have any good ideas?”

Tilura seemed like she was having trouble thinking of a name.
Apparently, she was not like Liza, who did not think much at all… Well, not that those names were horrible. Yes.

Tilura had spent some time holding the sides of her head and thinking.
And just as I was thinking about offering her words of advice, she said that she was able to come up with a name.
Mr. Ekenhart nodded, and then with Leo behind us, he gestured for her to go to the Copper Eagle.
Tilura nodded eagerly and made her way towards it. The Copper Eagle also cried excitedly, as if the moment it had been waiting for had finally come.
