Chapter 102 – Hippolius’s Help

Kelly let out a sigh when she realized that I had forgotten to take Shiro out on a walk.

“Kuro, Roro, and Ruru are still babies, so it is fine. But Shiro is a demon wolf. The poor thing must be allowed to walk.”
“…That’s true. I will be careful.”
“Shiro is very smart, and so she probably saw that you were busy and could not say anything…”

Currently, Kelly was not sure about Shiro’s exact species.
It was definitely something new, but she didn’t know how different Shiro was from demon wolves and white demon wolves.

When I arrived in the dining hall, Shiro and the wolf cubs greeted me.
I petted the excited cubs and then patted Shiro on the head.

“Thank you for watching over them.”
“Wuff.”

Shiro wagged her tail.

After that, I made the food for the wolf cubs as I usually did.
When it was done, I gave it to the cubs, and then ate with the other Adventurers.

After we finished eating, I helped clean up and returned to see that the wolf cubs looked sleepy.

“I suppose it is time for your nap.”

‘Sleep.’

Kuro said he wanted to play, even though he was already dozing off.
Roro was already sleeping on her back.
Ruru looked sleepy but was still awake. However, she saw the other two and said she would sleep.

“Indeed. They will probably get lonely if they have to stay in Hippolius’s house alone…”

Hippolius and I had to return to working on the fields.
And so it would be best to have Fio and Shiro watch over the cubs.

“Au.”
Kuro put his chin on my arm and fell asleep.

“Very well then. Fio, you take Roro. I’ll carry Kuro and Ruru.”
“Okay!”

When we arrived at the field, we could wrap them up in blankets so they could sleep within sight.
Thinking this, I picked up Kuro and Ruru.

And then Fio carried Roro, and along with Hippolius, Pii and Shiro, we headed towards the field.
As for Ije, while I was cleaning up, she and Victor had gone ahead.
Apparently, there was something they needed to prepare.

When we arrived, Ije, Victor and the Adventurers were deciding on the boundaries for the field.
They had also brought the farming tools from the base.

And then Victor asked Hippolius politely.

“Good Hippolius. Please help us with removing the trees.”
‘Okay.’
“Hippolius said okay.”
“Thank you.”

Hippolius grew large again and knocked down the trees, just like usual.
Hippolius had magic horns that could crush boulders, and they now pulled out the trees from the roots.
The speed was astonishing.

“Kyuo…? Kyuo?”

After every tree, Hippolius would look towards me.”

“Don’t worry, I’m watching you. It’s very impressive, Hippolius.”
“Kyu!”

And then Hippolius moved to knock down the next tree.
Hippolius always wanted me to watch.
I thought it was because Hippolius liked being praised, but then again, Hippolius also wanted me to watch while it was eating.

“Amazing! Will finish quickly.”
“Ije. What should we do after we remove the trees?”
“Plow it.”

She said as she pointed to the plow amongst the farming tools.

“Ah, the plow. Don’t you make cows pull them?”
“Yes. All the cows in village… The devil…”
“I see.”

Ije looked very sad.
When her village was attacked, all of her beloved cows had been killed.

“But this plow might be too small for Hippolius.”
“Might still work…”
“Perhaps. But I can just make a new one.”
“Kyuo?”

Just then, Hippolius looked towards me after uprooting another tree.
“I’m still watching you. Very good, Hippolius.”
“Kyu!”
“Still, Hippolius. I have to make a tool, so I won’t be able to watch for a moment. Sorry.”
‘Okay. Hippolius will work hard even if Theodore not looking.’
“Thank you.”

And so I started to craft a plow for Hippolius.
