Kamigami – 69 Part 10

‘The blessing I used was quite minimal, so the effect will only last about five minutes after the command. Also, I’ve made sure it doesn’t overlap with the break arts.’

“I didn’t expect a hand-made divine vessel…”

‘With the right materials, adding a blessing is all you need to make a divine vessel. It is a little known trick. Though, while it is cost-efficient, it isn’t too powerful.’

The mithril clump he had was reborn into a divine vessel like this. The Dragon God must have foreseen that this would happen and given the order.

‘Now, Fi. Go and test out that divine vessel. At the same time, you should hunt some prey for dinner.’

“Say ‘Tokai’ in order to activate it.”
“Alright. Let’s go, Guto!”

Fi put on the newly created divine vessel and then along with Guto, rushed out of the cave.

After the small dragon disappeared into the forest, Keita rotated his shoulders, which were sore after the detailed work.

‘Good work. It must have been tiring doing something unfamiliar?’

“Yes. But it was interesting. I never thought I could make a magic tool myself. Maybe I should switch jobs over to an Enchanter.”

‘It was good for a first try. With hands as skilled as yours, perhaps you can be a good craftsman?’

He felt a little embarrassed to be praised like this, but it didn’t feel bad either. A short while ago, he would never have thought about helping some through making magic tools.

‘Thank you so much. Now we will be able to be useful to Salia and Sheto.’

“So, what are you going to do now?”

He asked while thinking about the future.

Indeed, being able to make magic tools meant he would be able to help them a little. However, there were two sides about to go to battle, and their mission was to ensure that both sides won. It seemed ridiculous. And so he wanted to know how they would get through this.

‘You will operate as a mobile strike force. Not for the Hero’s army, or for the Demon King’s army, but for Sheto.’

“I understand.”

‘What exactly will we be doing?’

‘…I cannot say that yet.’

The Dragon God said in an unusually heavy voice.

He seemed to be hesitating, and the silence continued for some time.

“Basically, you won’t leak information to disposable pawns?”

‘Keita!’

‘That is not the case. If you were disposable pawns to me, I would have said so from the beginning. I do have a plan for us to win. However…’

His eyes likely saw future developments to a decent degree. And the possibility of Keita dying.

Still, the Dragon God showed his view in a calm manner.

‘If my worst prediction comes to be, then all of you will be knocked out of the game.’

‘And is there no way to avoid it?’

‘There is. Immediately stop cooperating with Sheto and leave the battlefield.’

“…What would happen if we stopped helping him?”

‘Sheto will surely lose. As will Berganda. They will be swallowed up by the Hero’s army.’

Now it was Keita’s turn to be silent.

If he could use his power to help someone even a little. That was what he felt when he first started. But before he knew it, it was his decisions that were affecting everything.

‘Is there no possibility of Keita surviving and Sheto winning?’

‘Of course, there is. That’s why I said that it was the worst case scenario.’

‘Lord Dragon God, you think that the possibility is quite high, then?’

Life was a series of decisions. That was what the Dragon God had said.

And Keita had decided that he would not run away anymore.

“I’ll do it.”

He answered so clearly that even he was surprised. And he was happy about it.

‘I am grateful for your decision. And I will use all of my knowledge to find ways so that you can survive.’

“Thank you.”

‘However, I am the one who thinks of strategies. A tactician must always be prepared for every possible situation.’

As if in answer to Keita’s resolve, the Dragon God continued in a serious voice.

‘I will give you a strategy…for use in case of emergency.’
