My Beloved Dog is the Strongest in Another World – 1349

We reminisced together

“Hahaha. I didn’t think you were being selfish at that time. But I suppose it could have looked that way? But it made sense to me after I heard your explanation. And you were also very apologetic about it.”
“I’m glad you see it that way…”

“Still, there are dangerous monsters like orcs inside of the forest. So I’m glad that I was able to help you. Though, Leo did most of the work…”
“Wuff.”

Back then, I couldn’t even handle a sword properly. Sebastian had let me borrow one for cutting vines, but I wouldn’t have been able to fight monsters if I tried.

Leo, on the other hand, was able to take enemies down with ease since coming to this world. And so she had helped Claire a lot.

“Not at all… If you weren’t with me, I would never have found Sherry. And I wouldn’t have been able to save her either. Both you and Leo were a great help.”
“Haha. Perhaps you’re right.”

Though, that was because of Weed Cultivation.

But even if it was an ability I was granted after coming to this world, it did feel like a part of me now.

While I still had to be careful, I no longer accidentally made the wrong plants. Though, doing that had also led to some new discoveries…

In any case, I knew that there was no point in being so modest because I didn’t originally have it. And I should accept praise as well.

Of course, I would not get carried away with it either.

Thankfully, I wasn’t really the type to do that.

“I suppose that I’m changing as well. Thanks to you and Leo.”

“You, Mr. Takumi? I feel like you have always been the same kind man from the beginning.”
“Wuff-wuff?”

Claire looked puzzled, and Leo seemed to agree.

“Kind… Well, I do try my best to be kind and friendly with people. I’ve always been like that.”

It was mostly because of my aunt and uncle. They had taken care of me after my parents passed away.

I respected them and wanted to be like them.

“A long time ago… I wonder what you were like back then, Mr. Takumi!”
“…It’s not as interesting as you seem to be thinking.”

She was smiling eagerly at me now.

But I didn’t like talking about myself…

“Mr. Takumi, you know stories about my past. It is hardly fair…”

“Really? There is a lot that I don’t know yet… In that case, let’s tell each other something about when we were young, that we haven’t shared yet.”
“…When I was young… While it’s a little embarrassing, it is a fair exchange!”

I had heard some stories about Claire from the servants.

Mostly, Sebastian.

But she knew very little about my past, and wanted to know more.

“Wuff! Wou-wou!”

“Haha. Indeed. I will talk about you too, Leo.”

I chuckled.

Leo had been the center of my life, after all.

Ever since I started to live alone as a high school student. I had found Leo immediately, and so most stories after that point involved Leo.

And like that, under the starry sky…occasionally wondering if Mr. Euto wouldn’t try to bother us…we talked until Claire became sleepy..

She looked embarrassed while talking, but I was glad to hear stories about her being a tomboy.

…Mr. Ekenhart had said that she was so cute that it would hurt to put her in his eye. And yet, she had quite literally nearly poked his eyes out with her fingers when running… It was a rather violent story.

Thankfully, he was not injured.

As for Claire, I had already told her about my old job, and how I had lost my parents when I was young. But she was interested in hearing about my aunt and uncle, and how I rescued Leo.

Still, we did not want to stay up too late so that we would be tired the next morning again. And so we thanked Leo and went off to our separate tents.

There were still things we wanted to talk about, but it was a night where we got to know each other a little more.

It made me think that sleepless nights were worth having once in a while…
