Realist Demon King – 77

PAGE 1

Of course, Jeanne had no idea about my foresight, and so she chewed on her meat and said,

“So, the maid won’t be coming this time. Does that mean I will be in charge of the food?”

“I don’t think you should, just because you’re a woman.”

“Well, it was that way where I came from. And I wouldn’t mind making a meal for a beloved husband.”

“I suppose it was like that in your world. But I’m not a beloved husband. …And in any case, are you even good at cooking?”

“I cannot answer that, but I enjoy doing it.”

“You mean, you enjoy eating it. I have never seen you make anything.”

“That’s because I get fed three meals a day in the castle. Things are different when I travel.”

“This is the first time I’ve heard this. Very well then, you should make lunch today.”

“Leave it to me! You’ll never think of bringing that maid again once you’ve tasted my food. I am superior to her in every regard. The battlefield, the bedroom, and even the kitchen!”

And then she stormed off.

As for the kitchen, it was managed by an orc called Shiron.

Apparently, he was the descendant of a counselor to one of the greatest sorcerers, but he had no talents in that regard, and so he became a cook.

Orcs were rather picky when it came to food, and there were many with sophisticated tastes. So perhaps it was for the best. However, I asked him why it seemed that orc cooks rarely served bacon and sausages.

It turned out to be a misunderstanding.

“Some people think that orcs are pigs, but that will not do. We are not pig monsters.”

The rumor about them tasting the same was not true.

“People can be incredibly rude.”

And then Shiron showed me the bacon and sausages in his kitchen.

“As you can see, even orc chefs have pork. I also have plenty of ingredients and can make anything that you like.”

Jeanne heard this and made him stand back.

“I don’t need any pig helping me. I am going to make the Demon King’s lunch today.”

She said as she rolled up her sleeves.

Her arms were beautiful and pale.

It did not seem like she would be able to pick up large pots with those arms, but then again, she swung a large sword.

And so I decided to watch and see what she would make.
