For a small dragon, you needed 12 Shana cows a year.

If you wanted to make an advance payment for 10 years, then you needed 120 cows. In other words, 120 Patrons.

 

“Though, that’s still a lot of money for the average person. It’s not something you can do lightly. Still, there were enough people who were willing.”

“Of course. My family just own a small bakery in town. But I’m sure that if they really wanted, they could…”

 

“Exactly. And so they did. Nearly 1,000 people came. Of course, there are other expenses as well, when it comes to Dragon Masters. But you can cover them with enough people.”

Having so many Patrons can’t be a good thing.

 

“Well, that time, I think the person got around 2,000 Patrons in all. You could become a Patron with just a small investment, so it’s no wonder people did it.”

 

“I don’t know. It’s just a title, right? Is there a point?”

Patrons only had some control over a Dragon Master when they were the sole person who was sponsoring them. A Patron who was contributing such a small amount wouldn’t have much influence at all.

 

“As long as the return is larger than what you invested, it is fine. You can still boast about it for the rest of your life, and it’s always good for business.”

“Regardless, it’s going to be banned now.”

 

“Well, similar funds were created two years ago. And last year, there were Dragon Masters who were targeting such funds from the beginning. I think that’s why the country started to take action.”

 

I see, so it was getting out of hand.

“If you establish a fund, you don’t have to have any deep connections with the Patrons. So it’s beneficial to the Dragon Master as well. Of course, that’s all out starting from this year. So, I wonder what they will come up with next.”

 

Ark said with a laugh.

I wasn’t sure if his expression was of someone seeing into the future, or just making fun of them.
