Up until now, all the magic I had learned about had to do with wind and fire.

So unlike with humans, there was no risk to using it.

“Indeed. But even if the effect is weaker, it’s great that there is no pain. Depending on how you use it, your herbs can be more useful than human magic.”

While it was probably an exaggeration, it was indeed less risky.
But it really did not strengthen you that much.
I suppose you could carry ten or twenty extra kilos, and run a little faster.
Still, it was better than nothing, and other people could use it as well.
