Chapter 227 – We Were Called To The Demon Lord’s Castle!
“There are so many wagons.”
Melk said as she watched the wagons coming up the mountain from the south.
They were being drawn by monsters called devil goats, and ten of them made a line that was headed towards us, on the top of the mountain.
Celes the Mope said excitedly,
“Baah! Devil goats! They are like us, and very tough!!”
“But they aren’t stopping to eat the grass on the road, like Mopes do.”
Mette observed. Celes puffed out her cheeks angrily.
Indeed, the devil goats seemed quite serious. They did not raise their voices or stop to eat grass.
“We have different roles! They don’t grow much wool, but we have lots of it! And so we must eat more grass! If you keep saying such things, you won’t get any clothes, Mette!”
“Now, now… Still, their horns sure are big.”
Noted Iria, and I nodded.
“Their job is to pull wagons. But just one of them has enough power to destroy a human village.”
Their charges could easily flatten a wooden building. Even a hundred human soldiers with shields would not be able to stop them.
It wasn’t that Mopes were weak, but when it came to combat ability, these devil goats were on a different level.
And since such powerful monsters were now drawing the wagons, this was a very odd sight indeed.
“The Demon King has come.”
Melk said, and when I looked up into the sky, I saw the Demon King being guided by Asuha.
Demon King Sophis…the beautiful woman in black armor, appeared. Today, her long purple hair was braided behind her.

And then then the Demon King added,

Said Iria. Apparently, she felt that it was too dangerous to go to the Demon King’s castle.
However, if we turned her down now, the Demon King might not take it too well.
As for Melk, she was staring in my direction. I think she was saying that we could trust the Demon King, and it would be fine.
