#26 – Unstoppable Force
“Hey, what are you doing, Zero! Kill him!”
“…I can’t.”
“Huh!?”
The bald man called Zero shook his head with a tense expression.
“There is no way I can do it. Even if we all attacked at once, we would not survive for one minute.”
“Wha…!”
Yukito narrowed his eyes.
In spite of what the man said, it was clear that he still wanted to fight.
Yukito didn’t think he would lose. However, if he had to protect Ms. Aize and her sister at the same time… He could not lower his guard.
“Besides, in this current situation. I think it would be a bad idea to rely on force.”
“Then retreat. If you do not touch Ms. Aize and her sister, then I won’t fight you.”
His eyes met those of the bald man.
However, the man just laughed.
“Yukito…was it? The swordsman employed by Count Orlando. I’ve seen how strong you are during the combat technique tournament. So…why are you getting involved in this matter?”
“What?”
“This is a private matter regarding a different family. You are a stranger. A third party. If you kill all of us here…what will happen?”
“You’re one to talk. Seeing as you were just pointing your gun at two girls.”
He answered, while glaring at the barrel.
The man gulped and lowered the gun.
“This…is a little misunderstanding.”
The man finally regained himself after being stunned… Mikhail Fravault. Though, he was still sweating while trying to explain.
“That girl. Lady Aize. She attacked me due to some misunderstanding. I could not let that happen, could I? These men are my guards, and they overreacted a little. That’s all.”
“…That’s wrong.”
A voice rang from behind Yukito.
The small girl who was protected by Aize’s back.
(That is…)
He saw it immediately. The silver hair and brown skin. They had similar faces. Mimi Lilieth… Aize’s sister.
“That man. He was trying to kill us…!”
“No, you misunderstand. I just wanted to teach you a lesson…”
“Mr. Mikhail…no, Mikhail Fravault. I cannot trust a word that you say…!”
Mimi got to her feet and glared at him.
“I declare, as Mimi Lilieth. This engagement with you shall be broken off!”
Mikhail’s face distorted…and then he grinned.
“Ahh…that is unfortunate. Very unfortunate… But will your father allow that?”
“…What?”
“Preparations for the ceremony are already underway. All by my hand, of course. I wonder how much you will have to pay in damages if you call it off…”
He said gently, as if trying to persuade a child.
“Not only that. This is the second time for you sisters…there won’t be another. Your family will fall to the absolute bottom. Life will be even more harsh than before.”
Ms. Aize’s sister bit her lip.
He wasn’t wrong. That was just how it was with nobles. They didn’t care about how the situation came to be.
“You’re talking a lot. With your obnoxious reasoning, but…”
Yukito suddenly said.
Mikhail and everyone else froze.
“That has nothing to do with me. A criminal? Call me what you like. I only have one answer.”
The trees rustled, the wind blew unnaturally.
…Sword power.
With physical pressure, it slammed into their surroundings.
“Withdraw from both of them. Or…you die.”
…Power.
So pure and unable to mix…such clear power.
At times, it could easily twist one’s fate.
The situation had already changed completely.
Right now, there was only one person in control of the place. And if he wanted it—everything would end.
A cold sweat ran down Mikhail Fravault’s back. The bald man stepped in front of him protectively.
A painful silence. A volatile situation.
But then it was broken…by one girl.
“…Wait, teacher.”
“…Ms. Aize.”
Yukito turned around, and his face showed a hint of surprise.
Her eyes…were not those of someone broken. There was a fighting spirit that still lived within.
“I’m so grateful that you came. But…I’m sorry. I want to deal with this myself.”
“Ms. Aize?”
“I’m sorry. Without your help…we would both be dead. I know that I’m being obstinate, but…”
“It’s fine.”
Yukito said with a smile. The murderous air that was surrounding him was deactivated, and he turned away from Mikhail and his men.
Zero’s eyebrow twitched…but he did not move.
Turning his back… And yet, there was no opening at all.
“Ms. Aize.”
Yukito patted her on the shoulder while passing her.
“I’ll have your back. Do what you want.”
“…Yes.”
He passed. She lowered her eyes…
And when she raised her head again, her eyes fixed on her target, Mikhail.
its skipped again?
