Birds were not a good fit for the rooms

We arrived in front of the door. And then we stopped and considered the problem.
Well, it was mostly Rahle, who looked at the entrance with a puzzled expression.
As long as Rahle didn’t spread out its wings, then it was not that wide.

And this was a large mansion so that even Leo could fit in comfortably.
But Rahle was about four meters tall.
It could fit through if it lowered its head, and the ceiling was very high once inside.

Both Mr. Ekenhart and Ms. Claire seemed to be against the idea of Rahle being kept outside.
I suppose they did not think it was very hospitable.
Still, Rahle began to squawk, and Tilura interpreted. Apparently, Rahle actually preferred to be outside.
Indeed, it would be hard to have to stay indoors and not be able to move your wings.
When people had pet birds that they kept indoors, they sometimes even clipped their wings… I heard that it was to prevent accidents.

And even with a mansion of this size, there would be problems if Rahle spread out its wings.
Though, in this case, it was the mansion that would break, before Rahle got injured…
In any case, if Rahle preferred to be outside, then perhaps that was the best.

“I think that for Rahle, it is more important to be outside. After all, would it not be stressful if humans had to stay in small spaces where they could not stretch their limbs?”

Yes… These people were used to living in a large house with large rooms…
Mr. Ekenhart and Ms. Claire started to think back on the long trip. But I had been thinking about something even smaller.
Like being in a capsule hotel, where you could not even sit up.
…I had stayed at such places when I missed the last train… It had been very uncomfortable.

Of course, I went back on the first train the next day in order to take care of Leo.
And then I had to return to work right after that. It felt like I barely got any rest.
Compared to that, riding in a large, fancy carriage that was extravagantly decorated was…

“I don’t want Rahle to feel trapped. So outside will do just fine! Is that alright, Rahle?”
“Kii!”
“Rahle prefers to be outside. As Mr. Takumi said…it would be like shoving someone into the back of a carriage!”
“Uh…we would not do something like that… Uh, have you experienced that before?”
“Once… Before meeting Mr. Takumi. I once hid in the back of a carriage while going to Ractos…. It is no place for a person, and I regretted it…”

“Tilura…that is…”
“I won’t do it again! It’s cramped and it shakes and hurts…”

Apparently, Tilura had some experience when it came to being in cramped spaces, and she understood what I was trying to convey more than the others.

Well, not only was it cramped, but it would move a lot, and there were no cushions… I probably would not be able to last a whole hour like that.
That was an even worse environment than a capsule hotel.
I suppose it was her childish curiosity that led her to doing that… However, she clearly felt intense regret over it.
