Liza woke me up

Apparently, it was a good thing that I treated him differently compared to other people, and Mr. Ekenhart thought of me as a friend.
When it came to sword training, we were master and apprentice. But with everything else, considering Leo and the Gift, we were close to equal standing.

“What is it, Mr. Takumi?”
“Ah, nothing at all. In any case, I have no intentions of going with Ms. Anne, so please don’t worry about that. I’ll be much too preoccupied with my work in Range village.”
“Mmm. Well, I am relieved then. Hahaha!”
“Your Grace, perhaps you have had enough wine now?”
“What are you talking about, Sebastian? This is a friend, who may be a son in law eventually. Of course I will drink!”
“…I suppose so.”
“No, no. A son… Nothing has been decided yet!”
“Hahaha!”
“Hohoho!”
“Wuff…”

While I was happy to be called a friend, this talk about being a son in law was much too soon. I had already told him that.
I suppose it was mostly a joke, and he was just teasing me. After all, both he and Sebastian burst into laughter.
They were really amused… Well, that was fine.

As for Leo, she let out a sigh and closed her eyes.
Sorry, Leo. All of this talk is probably very boring for you…

“Papa and mama!”
“Gah!”
“Wou?”

The impact caused me to wake up.
When I opened my eyes, Liza’s head was on my stomach, and she was clutching onto Leo.
She had woken up and charged into us…

“…Liza. Charging and grabbing like that… Well, it’s probably fine for Leo, but don’t do that to me.”
“Okay!”
“Wuff?”
“You don’t mind, right, Leo?”
“Wou.”

I said as I gritted my teeth at the pain.
While I didn’t mind being hugged, it was quite different to come suddenly while I was asleep.
Liza was short, so her head rammed into my stomach, and I couldn’t breath for a moment.
As a beastkin, Liza was also stronger than humans… However, Leo had soft fur, so she would be fine.

“Good morning, Mr. Takumi.”
“Ah, good morning, Ms. Lyra.”
“Yes. Uh, sorry about last night…”
“Not at all. You two seemed very comfortable. Besides, it was nice to sleep while leaning against Leo.”

I sat up and got to my feet. And then I heard someone greeting me from the other side of the room.
When I turned, I saw Ms. Lyra. She had an apologetic expression as she bowed her head.

Last night, even while being teased, I stayed and talked in the dining hall until it was quite late.
Eventually, Mr. Ekenhart fell asleep on the table, and so I left him to Sebastian while Leo and I returned to my room.
Sebastian had laughed about how Mr. Ekenhart did not let go of his wine glass, even while sleeping.
In any case, when Leo and I reached our room, we saw that Liza was sleeping comfortably on the bed.

And she was clutching onto Ms. Lyra.
Apparently, she could not make Liza let go, and ended up falling asleep as well.
After all, I had been away for quite a long time.
I also felt bad about waking them up, and so I just used Leo as a blanket and pillow.

Thanks to the bath, Leo’s fur was very fluffy, and enveloped my body. And Leo’s warmth kept me from getting cold during the night.
While beds were nice, sleeping like this wasn’t bad either.
Leo also seemed to be happy about it.
But Ms. Lyra apologized for taking over the bed. While I didn’t mind, I suppose she felt bad as a maid.

“Wuff.”
“Yay, mama!”
“Hey, it’s morning. Don’t fall asleep again.”
“Okay. Mama is so fluffy!”
“Wuff-wuff.”

Liza seemed a little jealous that I had slept on Leo.
And so Leo gestured for her to come, and so Liza jumped on her happily.
And while I warned her, she seemed to be playing, so it was unlikely that she would go to sleep.
