Hot Spring Tour – Starry Night
“Ah, I thought I was dead when it looked at me like that.”
“So did I. But that’s when it happened.”
“Aye. Mr. Ajifu stood up and said, ‘Leave this to me.’”
I did not say that.
Also, they were calling me Mr. Ajifu now.
“And then Mr. Ajifu’s body shone so bright that it illuminated the whole area.”
“The ogre, which had been running wild up until then, stopped dead in its tracks!”
“I could tell. It was scared!”
After we returned to the village, the two hunters could not stop talking.
“Even though Mr. Ajifu was approaching it slowly, it could not move at all. It was quite a sight.”
“I thought… Like I was watching a holy knight from a fairy tale.”
I wasn’t even riding on a horse. And hardly looked like a knight.
My mind had been preoccupied, and so it was too late when I realized it. The two were looking at me differently. There was great respect in their eyes now.
“Mr. Ajifu must have taken pity on the ogre…”
“Aye. And so he gestured with his hand for the ogre to come.”
They continued to talk and talk. Apparently, the hobgoblin had gone to help the overwhelmed ogre, in spite of its fear of the light.
The villagers listened to their exciting story.
“In any case, there is no need to worry as long as Mr. Ajifu handles the ogres!”
I could not ask them to be a little more concerned about me. Even the chief was astonished that I was so skilled.
“I haven’t defeated them yet. Don’t get so carried away. This won’t be easy.”
“Of course, Mr. Ajifu! You know best! Now, have a drink.”
Ah, they clearly were not listening. But they had been in fear of the ogres for so long, and this was finally some hope. So there was a cheerful atmosphere among the villagers.
However, it had been a mistake to bring the hunters to the fight with me. Not because they saw me fight. But because it was too dangerous.
I had not expected the ogre to be so cautious. It had likely run away because it knew that there were two more people hiding in the bushes. Was it instinct or some kind of skill?
And so I could not ask them to come next time. I would have to find a way to deal with them myself.
“Hah…”
I moved over to a secluded corner and sighed. While I was the subject of the conversation, I had other things on my mind.

Title
Visitor From Another World, Farmer, Blessing of the Ability God, Adventurer, Creator’s Blessing.
I had probably leveled up in a short amount of time, because of my visit to Amerata, and that there were many opportunities to fight. I was happy about my sword skill, which had stopped going up for some time. Perhaps it was because I was teaching others.
Light Magic had finally risen to Lv10, so I was no longer a novice priest. I was supposed to go to some church for the official procedure…ceremony.
At Lv10, I would be able to acquire the spell Turn Undead. I was grateful, but it was not very useful for me right now.
I had checked my status because I was thinking about the ogre’s status. The overwhelming power and speed had to be due to high STR and AGI. Surely it was above C-Rank. And the tough body. Its VIT must be high as well.
On the other hand, it was easily provoked, and its movements were very direct. So its MND and INT were probably low. Its attacks relied on strength alone. DEX couldn’t be too high either then.
Of course, I could not actually see its status, so this was all just speculation. However, I thought that it wasn’t too far off from the truth. Knowing all this made the fight worth it.
The proper way to go about it would be to use attack magic in order to chip away at its HP. The advance guard takes the attacks while the rear guard deals damage. If you had an advanced guard who could stand their ground, that would be the orthodox way.
But I was solo, and could not use magic attacks.
In other words, fighting it head on with a sword was not the proper way. Was it reckless? I suppose. Foolish? I don’t know if I would go that far. It could go either way. I just needed a little more and the scale would tip in my favor. That was logical enough.
“Hah…”
Logical. It did make you want to sigh. No matter what I said, I could not use my own magic to defeat it. No matter what I did, I would have to use my sword to kill it in the end.
I glanced over to Mine Breaker, which leaned against the wall. I could see part of the blade from the crack between the scabbard. The mithril was glowing quietly.
“Sir Ajifu. Don’t drink alone. You should join us.”
As I was troubled over it, one village woman asked me to join them. Sir Ajifu? Who was that? I had a bad feeling regarding joining them.
“Sorry. I’m going to go and get some air.”
“But…”
I heard some mutters when I stood up, but you couldn’t allow such things to bother you. I took my sword and went outside. The chilled night wind brushed my cheek.
I didn’t feel like being swept away into the village’s celebratory mood. When I looked up, the night sky was filled with twinkling stars. At least I wouldn’t have to worry about the weather tomorrow.
“Hah!”
I unsheathed Mine Breaker and swung at the sky. But the stars stayed in place. Of course.
The cold air and light blue blade helped to cool my head. Ultimately, there was a limit to what I could do.
I was never the strategic type. So thinking about it was not going to make me suddenly think of a brilliant plan for luring just one ogre out of the valley.
“Hya! Hah!”
I continued to swing, tracing the forms.
But this time, my mind was not on my old instructors. But the ogre.
“Hyah!”
Yes… What I can do, huh. As I swung, my head felt more clear.
I imagined the ogre swinging its arms. Thick like tree trunks.
“Arrghh!”
The time I spent in this world. The time I spent in the old world. I thought back, and wondered if today’s fight represented all that I was.
As I thought, I continued to swing. Eventually, sweat began to bead and pour down. Before I knew it, Mine Breaker was charged and glowing. Creating blue arcs in the night.
Under the sky full of stars, the sounds of blade cutting through the air, and hoarse breathing continued late into the night.
Thank you
