Chapter 241 – Rising Up!!
The day after the battle with Ruda.
We immediately started with the protection of the demihumans.
The plan to gather them to Leorl before Ruda made his move first.
While Remlik was the viceroy, Ruda and the governor held true authority. And so this would be considered a rebellion.
If they found out, they would do everything they could to put a stop to it.
It was a race against time.
And so we headed to Shia’s village first.
“Of course, I will help you.”
When Remlik and I told them of our plan, Shia immediately offered to help us. And then her mother and a few others agreed as well.
However, the majority of them had conflicted expressions and did not nod.
Eventually, one of the villagers opened his mouth with a grave expression.
“We do not wish to fight. We have no food or personnel to spare. We are grateful to you, Your Highness… But, we cannot go against the Vader people.”
“Indeed. Even if we had the weapons, we could not defeat them… And if we fail, everyone in the village may be executed. How could we agree to such a plan?”
The crowd murmured in agreement.
So no one believed that the plan would succeed.
And even if most of them did, it was still possible that one of them would go and inform the governor.
In order for this plan to work, every person in the village had to be convinced that it would succeed.
I turned around and nodded to Number 15, who waited behind me.
And then Number 15 waved its hand to something in the far distance.
Within ten seconds, there was a loud rumbling.
The villagers noticed it and they looked up at the sky.
“Wh-what is that?”
“The Vader people?”
In the sky, there was a dragon with giant wings.
And it was descending towards the village at a great speed.
At first, the villagers were frightened, thinking they were being attacked by Vader. However, they soon realized that the dragon was not a living creature.
“It’s huge…”
“Is it…metal?”
Indeed, it was a dragon-shaped Golem made with a Heart Stone.
The body was built with Magic Defense Stone and Black Iron.
Furthermore, there were other golems flying in the sky as well.
I turned to Remlik.
He thanked me, and then addressed the villagers.
“They are under my command. With them, we will not lose against the forces of my brother and the governor.”
“The prince had such subordinates… And those humans as well…?”
Remlik was about to correct them, but I spoke first.
“That’s right. We came to the Lang province in order to help Prince Remlik. It is not only demihumans who are oppressed by the Vader people. Humans are as well.”
They seemed satisfied by this answer.
Remlik looked like he wanted to say something, but at this point, he should use anything that he could.
If they knew that there were others outside of the province who were in the same position as them, they would think that Remlik had even more allies.
Besides, it wasn’t a lie. Berfalt had made slaves of humans too.
“And we have other friends who are not humans.”
I said, and then turned around, where the ground was shaking.
A giant suit of armor was walking towards us.
The demihumans looked up at it in awe.
“What is that thing…”
Mado Armor. Mappa and craftsmen from Sheorl had built it overnight with Black Iron, Magic Defense Stone and other metals.
This was very effective on the villagers.
Remlik turned to them.
“With them, we will be able to protect you… And once I regain my authority as viceroy, I will send the governor and my brother back to the capital. They will not be able to torment you anymore. So please, lend me your strength.”
Remlik bowed his head.
This surprised the demihumans even more than when they had seen the Mado Armor.
The prince was bowing his head to them. While other Vader people saw them as if they were slaves. It was an unthinkable act.
Eventually, Shia stepped forward in front of Remlik.
“No matter what anyone else says, I will help you. I know you will help us no matter what, prince.”
And then her mother and some of the other demihumans followed.
After a short silence, one of the villagers shouted.
“Me too! I will follow the prince!!”
“I don’t care if I die! I do not want my children to continue to live with this suffering!!”
Eventually, these voices seemed to envelope the entire village.
“All of you…”
Perhaps Remlik had not been confident, deep inside.
He must have been worried that his words would not be able to move them.
However, they were now offering to help him.
And so his expression changed. And with confidence, he answered.
“Thank you! All of you!! I promise to restore order to these lands for your sake!”
The crowd cheered loudly at this.
And so it was decided that Shia’s village would support him fully.
And they would send word to the other demihuman villages.
And when the other villages saw the giant Mado Armors and Golems, they readily agreed to help Remlik.
After that, the villagers made their way to Leorl.
In the end, nearly all of the demihumans in the Lang province gathered to Remlik’s side.
