“Who told you to go that far?”
The dragon god spat out those words with exasperation as soon as they entered the god seat.
“Surely you could have made the restrictions a little more lenient… You were acting extremely impulsive.”
“I am sorry. However, no one will be able to complain about our actions now. So I am satisfied.”
“Of course, you never meant to use the blessing of the stars. So it’s like money you never meant to spend. I suppose it was a lawful way of getting rid of trouble.”
“And as a result, I was able to show my sincerity. I think that the other gods viewed it quite positively.”
Once the Seer had left in order to return to his god seat, more than a few of the lesser gods had then gathered around Salia.
And while none had gone as far as to ally with her, they applauded the way she had defended herself. And some promised that they would not change their standing towards her.
“Still, I think that the conditions were of immense value. Now you can act more boldly, and have Sheto participate in the Demon King’s army.”
“…Wa-wait one moment! That was not my intention at all…”
“Regardless of what your intentions were at the time, you only have a few alliances left. The one thing you can wager that is big is your own life. In such a state, do you really intend to break away from the Demon King’s army in order to fight alone against the forces of the Seer?”
She may have won the battle of words, but when it came to the battle ahead, her future was still shrouded in darkness.
“I am not completely alone. Fi and Guto are still with me.”
“Why would you count a young dragon and wolf amongst your allies? Well, I am in agreement that they should stick with Sheto. I shall contact Fi for you.”
“Speaking of allies, what happened to Canila and Keita?”
The dragon god was already typing a message on his computer. His tail swayed vaguely and he looked troubled.
“Fi has tried to contact him, but has not been able to reach him. As for Canila, she has not come out of her god seat, so we do not know anything at all.”
“I see… If only they were with Sheto, he would not be forced to stick with the Demon King’s army…”
“In any case, they are the ones who are inviting Sheto. You may as well learn what you can about what is happening inside before you leave?”
“I feel very conflicted. Betraying someone who sees you as a friend, and going on ahead for your own victory…”
After desperately arguing that she would not betray the celestial world, she was now talking about outsmarting the Demon King’s army and betraying them.
“Do you really have time for being sentimental? You saw it yourself. The demon general and his soldiers are not to be underestimated.”
“I know that. We do not have the luxury of choosing the path or beautiful heroism right now.”
“You should have Sheto train with the general and learn of his strengths. Experiencing such power will surely be useful in future battles.”
Even after surviving the attacks of a great army and an enemy’s scheme, the path ahead was still dark.
Still, they had to go on. She had to believe.
“I will tell Sheto to move. It is possible that the Seer will direct his army towards Sheto in order to get back at me.”
“In that case, you should give the orders here. It will be troublesome for us to meet every time something happens. You should stay here for some time.”
The small dragons frowned at this. But the lord of the god seat pretended like he did not notice them.
Salia silently bowed her head low to them.
