Kamigami – 78 Part 2

“Keita and Canila left it for you. Ah, you put it on your left.”

It was made of mithril, and there was a carving of two wolves devouring the sun and moon. When Sheto put it on, it fitted him shockingly well.

“All of you. Can you still trust in the old man’s plans?”

Fi asked the remaining monsters.

“Old man? Ah, that strangely intelligent-sounding voice. He still has a strategy?”

“Yes. Alright, let me ask you again.”

Said the young dragon.

“Will you run away, defeated and with your tail between your legs, or will you take a chance at victory?”

At such a provocation, there was no one who chose retreat.

Sheto saw Komos among them, and he could not help but smile.

“I am a member of this army. I cannot stand the thought of suffering bitter defeat so many times.”

Once he was satisfied by everyone’s reaction, Fi stood in the center of the monsters and raised his voice.

“Alright then. Listen carefully to the old man’s plan.”

While recalling the scene of the twilight gloom, Sheto drew the bowstring.

A strange sound brushed past his cheek, and a sharp silver light illuminated his face.

His target, the entrance of the enemy camp. There were soldiers with shields. About five of them.

“Shh!”

Along with his breath, the string sang. And then a streak of magic light shot straight ahead.

And shattered into eight shards.

“Ahhhh!”
“Gahh!”

The splintered lights smashed into the shields of the soldiers, or pierced straight through them.

Sheto stared intently at his weapon. It was unlike anything he had ever used before.

It was shaped like a crescent moon, and bore the same carved design as the bracelet, only it was more detailed. And thought it was made of metal, it weighed just as little as the wooden bows he usually used.

‘How is it? Your new weapon?’

“I, don’t know yet.”

‘You will get used to it. More importantly, here comes the enemy.’

A group of soldiers rushed out from the Seer’s camp. This time they formed a tight horizontal line, shields raised in front, and charged towards him at full force.

“He is using Frozen Moon Arrow! Hide behind your shields and charge!”

‘Try adjusting your aim. As when you hunt prey, release while keeping the spot you want to hit within your sight.’

He nodded and drew the bowstring.

Silver light sprang out in an instant, obeying Sheto’s will. There was no need to nock an arrow. Endless streams of magical arrows came forth without limit.

The light raced through the empty air, shattered into fragments, and fell upon the enemy with a howl.

“Now! With your shields…gah!”

The man who had shouted the command ended up having his toes crushed. And then the shield was knocked out of his hand.

The other soldiers also had their weapons and shields smashed away. Their legs were pierced, and they fell to the ground.

‘Splendid.’

“This…light. It bends?”

They had been tracing a serpentine path that would have been impossible for an ordinary bow. Realizing that something was wrong, the soldiers halted their charge and began to take steps back.

‘The trajectory of Frozen Moon Arrow can be controlled to some extent by the will of the user. Someone who is very skilled could make them fly so as to avoid any interference. From now on, try to imagine their paths.’

The soldiers began to take their wounded and retreat.

“Why they…not come in greater numbers?”

‘They want to see what tricks we have. And then they will reset, as usual.’

The Dragon God said with some amusement.

Sheto smiled a little as well as he watched the enemy once again fortify themselves behind a wall of shields.
