“Hmm, hmmm… The magic related stats have really gone up.”

“It is because you have been using magic a lot recently. They are making up for all that time when they remained unused.”

I see. Well, I would just have to use them more often then. Still, my AGI has increased at an insane rate…I’ll be creating afterimages soon! Ahahahaha!

“So, what about you, Daniela?”

“Hmm? Me? Status open. Hmm……my level has exceeded 70.”

“Woah, that’s amazing. Congratulations.”

“Thank you. But no, this is actually on the lower end. It is quite difficult for elves to gain experience in proportion to their age. And besides, I had often traveled alone and actively avoided getting into fights.”

Now that I recall, Daniela was close to two hundred years old, I think. It’s crazy. I wonder what that felt like.

“Well, it’s still something to congratulate you on. Let’s celebrate later.”

“Gladly. I want to eat something delicious.”

But you just ate!

We left the restaurant behind us and went out into the city. According to the guidebook, we were currently on the main street. As a newcomer here, I had my nose fixed to the pages as we walked down the streets. The clothing store that was our destination was just down the next road, so I paid attention to not miss it.

Most of the buildings in the city were built of bright colored bricks. Though they were soft, almost pastel-like rather than being vivid. I thought that it rather suited the green grass of the plains. Not that I had much faith in my artistic sensibilities.

“It has grown into a great city… It was but a small countryside town when I last visited here. No, maybe it was a little more developed than that… How was it…”

Daniela was trying very hard to bring back some old memories of this place. I looked at her and smiled.

“Mmm, why are you laughing, Asagi? That is rude!”

“No, no, master Daniela. I was laughing at those street performers over there.”

“Grrrr…!”

I laughed and slapped her on the shoulder as she furrowed her eyebrows angrily. We continued to walk down the street. It was very peaceful. It was the fate of the protagonist to experience some kind of trial after spending some time in peace. But such logic hadn’t proved to be true here. And I wasn’t the protagonist anyway, so there was no need to think of such things. What could possibly happen to us as we turn the corner in this lively city? This world would be a hellhole if such incidents occurred at that frequency. It would be the same as never getting to actually rest.

Now, we just needed to turn this corner and then we would be there. Even the navigator inside of my brain was telling me that ‘you’ve arrived at your destination’ and shutting off. Now, let’s go see some clothes.

And then I walked into a wall.

Dam, it hurt… Wasn’t there supposed to be a street here! I stand up with annoyance and look up from the guidebook.

I am looking at the wall.

That’s not right… Am I that tired?

“Hey, you. That hurt!”

“The wall talked…?”

“Ahh!?”

The wall was a person. Here we go now, an incident.
