“Regardless, I shall be keeping my ears peeled for any rumors about you.”

Miss Miranda said with a gleeful laugh and then left.

 

“She said something about having three younger siblings.”

She was a playful person.

 

I entered the store and told Mister Rob that the ceremony had ended.

 

“But you’ll still work here part-time? That’s quite unheard of. You must keep it a secret.”

“I know. And so, it’s about tomorrow…”

 

Up until now, I started in the morning and helped for as long as the clock would permit.

But from tomorrow, I would have classes, so I could only help during the morning.

 

“Aye. Even if you can only help in the early morning, it will be a great help. Thank you.”

“No, thank you.”

 

“But, do you truly have enough time?”

“Why wouldn’t I?”

 

“Well, it’s quite far from here to the Dragon Academy. A round trip would be rather long.”

Mister Rob didn’t know about the underground waterways or Shadow Crossing.

 

They meant that the distance was not much of a problem for me. However, I couldn’t tell him that.

 

“I’m used to getting up early, so it’s fine. Back at home, I went to bed by the time the sun went down.”

That was actually true.

Because it allowed me to sleep a little before going on a mission to assassinate someone.

 

As both my father and I had lived like that, everyone in our family went to bed early and got up early.

 

“I see. Well, you can’t be a baker and a late-riser. But if it becomes too hard for you, please tell me. We’ll figure something out.”

“I understand. Thank you.”

 

“Aye. Also, Mira just came back, so you should go and talk to her. She was wondering how things went.”

 

“Understood. I’ll go and see her now then.”

I could sense her presence outside of the store.

And so I left Mister Rob and headed outside.

 

After Mira, I would have to go and meet Her Majesty.
