Seisan Mahoushi – 216

Chapter 216 – Shared Wisdom!?

“That should do it.”

I said as I gazed up at the grand palace in front of me.

Solm that out a sigh of amazement.

“It is more glorious than the palace in the royal capital…”
“You think so…?”

It had been built mainly with stone materials that the Golems had brought.
In the center, there was a giant building with a dome-shaped room, which was a great hall where you could host a ball for over a thousand people.

There were also three-story buildings on each side, with lavish rooms and places for the royals and nobles to rest. In general, the royal of each country would likely sleep in their own encampments, but it was good for appearances.

Inside the buildings were numerous, great sheets of glass. We had made them out of sand, which Enna and the others had brought from the south by airship.

“While the interior is not finished, the exterior is quite splendid.”

Solm stared at the palace for some time, and then he turned to me with a dumb-founded expression. It was unusual for him to look like that.

“Sir Joshua…you really are incredible when it comes to Production Magic.”
“No, no… It’s because everyone helped with bringing the materials. Besides, that giant dome. I could not have built it if the dwarves had not made the metal frames first. I just put it all together.”
“You, you are too modest… You really should have… No, excuse me.”

Solm apologized.

He probably thought that the humans should have appreciated me more.

But it was enough for me, to live with everyone in Fendel. I wanted the fighting to be over soon, so it would be peaceful again.

“No, it’s fine. Besides, you’ve been a great help as well, Solm. With food and clay. It’s been invaluable.”
“Everyone just wants to repay you and the people of Fendel… Still, it is a sad thing that this palace will only be used once.”
“Indeed… I’ll have to think of something else it can be used for when we are finished.”

I said, and then Melk muttered next to me.

“It could be those villas that humans talk about.”

Upon hearing this, Iria said,

“If the world becomes peaceful…it can be a place where people from different countries gather together.”
“What an interesting idea.”

Melk agreed.

A time when the world was at peace… I would be very happy if such a day were to come.

As I thought about such things, another airship arrived near the palace.

With the construction decided, we realized that a single airship would not be enough.
And so I had made ten smaller airships for the purpose of transportation. I also made a few to be used for scouting, and had them watch the area.

As for the crews, they were mainly from the Nowa tribe, for their wind magic, and the Tengu, who controlled the sails.

The people coming out of the ship now were mostly Kappa. And they were carrying bags of sand.

I called to them.

“Ah. Sorry to say this after you’ve arrived, but we have enough sand now. So this can be the last time. Did Enna or Kambell not tell you?”
“Well… Lady Melk thought of something very interesting. And said that she needed more sand.”
“Melk did?”

I wondered about this and turned towards Melk. At the same time, a turtle…turtle person, Fonia, descended from the ship.

“We are going to make a sea on the mountain.”

Mette had been listening nearby, and looked as if she had heard something crazy.

Melk muttered.

“It sounded like a good idea. And so it was done.”
“Wait, wait! Surely you can’t make something as big as a sea!”

Mette was not convinced.

“Well, a real sea is not possible, but… We could make a place that resembles a sea. That’s what you meant, right?”

Fonia nodded and answered.

“We will make a beach, and pour water inside. And we have shells that make the sounds of the sea. To be honest, we also wanted to ask the Ents to plant some palm trees.”
“But it’s on top of the mountain, and cold… No, wait…”

I looked at the palace dome and had an idea.

“If I made a building with a glass roof, we could make it warm…perhaps.”

They had hothouses like that in the northern countries.

It was cold in the northern territories, and they could not grow plants that were native to the south. However, if it was in a warm room with lots of sunlight, then they would grow.
Such facilities were popular among nobles and alchemists.

Inside a hothouse, the palm trees might be able to survive.

“I will test it on a smaller one first. Ask Ecleshia about the necessary temperature.”

Melk nodded at me.

“Good idea…Melk has thought of something else.”
“Something else?”
“Make it snow inside of a building. The snow will not melt if the sun doesn’t reach it.”
“I see. Recreating winter. That is interesting. And we can build a hot spring inside…”

I started to say, and then Asuha opened her mouth.

“In that case, maybe you could make a place where you can feel like you are flying! Have two pillars raised with a rope in between, and hang from it with a metal hook.”

Mette sounded excited.

“Ohh! Like when the Ents carried us in the forest. Where you hang and move through the air… In that case, we should also have a place where many people can fight at once!”

That was a…boring idea.

The others did not react much to it either.
Though, Asuha and Solm were polite enough to say it was a good idea.

But Melk muttered,

“Boring.”

And Iria looked exasperated.

“We are trying to stop a war here, not make place for people to fight.”
“Bu-but. It will only be a mock battle! Or they can even end the war like that. Bring the leaders of both armies together, and decide the victor!”

I couldn’t help but mutter in surprise. The others seemed a little impressed as well.

Mette was puzzled.

“Wha-what? Did I say something strange?”
“No-no, it’s actually not a bad idea.”

I said, and then Melk muttered.

“An unusually good idea from Mette. Melk is surprised.”
“Bu-but I am always having good ideas!?”

Mette puffed out her cheeks a little. And then Iria said,

“Well, I do not want to lose to the likes of Mette… I too have a good idea. We can make a small forest that is easy to get lost in, and play tag inside. I…can play the demon role.”

Iria said with a smile, and everyone else shuddered in terror.

Melk’s ears pointed upwards.

“Good idea. If Iria chases others as a demon, there will be no time for war.”
“Ye-yes, a good idea! But uh, we can let the humans do that amongst themselves then.”

I said, along with Melk.

Iria looked a little puzzled, but nodded her head.

“…In any case, thank you for your ideas. We have plenty of time, so let’s make these various facilities. And not just for the nobles, but we can make hot springs for the soldiers as well.”

That being said, we also wanted the southern cities to get their aid, and so we couldn’t keep all of the human armies here.

Currently, it seemed like the southern cities and the Demon King army were just glaring at each other…but we had to be careful. If necessary, we would go and help the southern cities.

And like this, we continued to prepare the site for the banquet.
