Seisan Mahoushi – 235

Chapter 235 – A Mystery Army!?

And so we used one of the small airships and headed to the west.

After passing the forest covered mountains, and the barren mountain ranges, a desolate wasteland of rock and sand came into view.

The homeland of the Grank tigerfolk, was in a desert that was even farther to the west from this place.

While there were no villages here, there were roads from north to south, just like in the lands around Fendel. Of course, fights had erupted occasionally between the humans and the Demon King army.

I scanned the area and said,

“The ancient western battlefield… This must be it then.”

Melk answered.

“The smell is stronger.”

Just then, Iria turned and pointed straight to the west.

“The sandstorm is thick… And from within it, there was some kind of explosive sound.”

As Iria said, something like a sandstorm was carrying up the sand and dust into the air.

Mette raised her voice as well.

“There seem to be red flashes of light in there. There must be something inside.”

In that case, it will be quite dangerous to just charge into the storm.

However, Asuha answered.

“Please leave it to me! I shall blow it away with wind!”

Asuha said, and then she directed her staff towards the sandstorm and unleashed her wind magic.

The wind blew loudly, and it started to push away the sand in the west.

And then what was happening within was slowly revealed.

“That is a…”

A battle was unfolding within the sand.

One side had fewer numbers, and were small. The other side was glowing and was humanoid in shape.

I could tell from the flow of magic energy.

Sophis was with the smaller group. I suppose the dark figures around her were her black armor subordinates.

And they were being attacked by figures that shone with a pale blue light.

Perhaps they were wisps or wraiths. I had never seen such things before, but they were a type of Undead.

Sophis and her knights defeated them, one after another. Explosions as big as mountains erupted everywhere.

However, the humanoid were so numerous, that they continued into the horizon.

Sophis and the others were being pushed back a little by little.

“We must go and help them!”

Said Iria, and we nodded.

“Aye. We cannot just sit and watch as Sophis is killed.”

And then I turned to Asuha.

“Asuha. Can you tell the Tengu to send word of what is happening here to the mountain and Fendel? With such numbers… We may not be able to stop them. They must all be prepared to fight if necessary. Also, tell them to send word at once, if something strange happens on their side.”
“Certainly!”

Asuha said, and then she called one of the messengers that had been flying behind her, and sent it back to the east.

And so we landed the airship and headed towards Sophis. Of course, I stored the airship into magic workshop.

Still, there were so many explosions.

Of course, Sophis and her black armors were using incredible magic as well. Fire, water, wind… Which they used to defeat the enemy. It was powerful enough to crush rock, so it was no wonder they were creating a sand storm around them.

As for the humanoid enemies, they appeared to be using swords and spears of light. But as individuals, they were probably on a similar level to skeletons. We should be able to defeat them easily with our weapons and magic.

Iria unsheathed her sword and said,

“First, we should unite with Sophis.”
“Aye!”

I wanted to ask her who the enemy was. And we needed to work together in order to defeat them.

And so we rushed to meet up with Sophis.
