Hot Spring Tour: Hostess
While my reaction was delayed, I was saved by the rope over the entrance.
Though, the ogre jumped over it easily instead of tripping.
But the change of pace was all that I needed. I pulled the rope in my hand, and the second rope that was hidden, sprung up towards the ogre’s feet.
“Grraaah!”
The ogre ignored it and took another step.
“Woah!”
With ogres, there wasn’t much difference in strength when it came to male and females. And so I was pulled by the rope. In order to avoid losing my balance, I let go and picked up my sword instead.
“Me-zroi-tar-mez-rei. Protection!”
While I had not been able to trip it, I still stopped it from charging at me. That was fine for now.
And so glared back at the ogre who stared at me angrily.
This was bad. Even if I won here, the male would be even more furious when it came. But if I don’t hurry, I may have to face both at the same time.
“Graah!”
Even though I was glowing, she attacked without caution. Perhaps she was more aggressive than the male?
First, a low kick. Well, it wasn’t very low when it was coming from someone who was over two meters tall. And it lashed out like a whip.
“Tsk!”
I could not block such an attack with a sword. And so I jumped back. However, the wind pressure came next.
It passed right in front of my face, and I managed to stay on my feet.
“Grrah!”
The ogre lowered its legs and then swung with its fist next. I used my sword to swipe it away.
When the blade and arm met, there was a hard ring. While blocking it, I saw the other leg rising in the corner of my vision.
So fast! I jumped in the direction that I was being kicked.
However, the ogre was even faster. And the end of its foot hit mine.
“Gah!”
I changed directions in the air, rotating as I flew.
My vision spun, but I managed to land on my feet. However, I could not kill the momentum, and ended up rolling on the ground.
“Mei-lei-mote…”
While I quickly sat up, my leg was twisted in a strange way. I tried to cast Heal, but then noticed the ogre flying in the air. It was going to stomp on me!
“…sei…heal!”
I rolled out of the way just as the foot slammed loudly to the ground. While my leg was in immense pain, I tried to ignore it.
While rolling, I slashed at the ogre’s ankles with my sword. However, it swiftly leapt out of the way.
I cast Heal one more time and stood up.
And then I pointed my blade at the ogre. It smiled back and licked its lips.
This was not…going to be a quick fight.
Indeed, after trading blows, I did not think that it was stronger than the male. However, it might be a little faster?
But in the end, it didn’t make much of a difference.
Also, I had been hit in the lower half, which was not guarded by my armor. One hit had been enough to break the bones.
Still, the magic protected me when I hit the ground, so it was not useless.
With the light faded, I faced the ogre. Healing myself was all I could do. If I started chanting now, it would just attack.
I was about to back away, but then stopped. I knew this would be tough. Not a quick fight. I had to go all out, or I could not win.
I charged up Mine Breaker to the limit. Previously, it had been tough to maintain this state. The thing that made it possible to do it for a long time was because I had continued to practice my swings for two years.
The ogre spread out its arms and lowered its stance.
“Grah!”
It spat and then charged forward. A tackle!?
It was as if it did not want me to escape. Even if I retreated, I would likely be knocked over. It wanted to catch me, even if it got hit by my blade in the process.
Well, there was only one thing to do then!
“Arrghhh!!”
I lowered my blade to a thrust. I already knew that cutting it head on was not effective. And there were no goblins now. So I would use its charge to my advantage!
And so I thrust, as if with my whole body. The tip of the blade glimmered as it pointed towards the ogre’s neck.
It was getting close. I was scared. …But I had to stand my ground!
However, the ogre’s eyes widened when it saw the blade, and it folded its arms and swiped the blade aside.
The screeching of metal as the sword slid to the side. But at the same time, it meant the side of the ogre was open.
I jumped to the side and dodged the ogre. We passed each other at a great speed, and the ogre with folded arms also stumbled.
“Me-zroi-tar-mez-rei. Protection!”
I quickly stood up and chanted. The ogre also got up and turned to look at me.
It then started to move to the side, so I changed directions as well. Like this, we noted each other’s breathing, and I thought.
What was that? The ogre had sensed a threat, and become defensive. It almost seemed like the tip of the sword had shone brightly. That had never happened before.
I lowered my sword. And then I focused on the tip. But there was no change.
“GGGRRAAH!”
But the ogre reacted to it. It kicked off the dirt and moved forward. Shit! Let me think!
Though, this time it didn’t charge. Once it was in striking distance, it stopped and swung with its fists.
“Woah!”
“Grrrraaa!”
I dodged the swing.
And then the other fist shot out, and I parried it with my sword.
It followed with a kick, and I jumped to the side.
And though I tried to strike at the extended leg, the blade just bounced off of its knee.
The sounds echoed around us.
The attacks and guards were at a speed that I had never experienced before.
Thank you again.
