46: Hero from Another World
…I accepted a certain quest from a village.
They wanted me to destroy a kobold settlement that was deep in the mountains.
My god also suggested I do it, as I would gain experience.
It was just kobolds. And so I accepted it.
The hunt was really easy.
Elka made a wall of fire to surround the settlement and block all exits. Ril used her magic to protect us from burning.
And then Axel and I went around and cut down the kobolds. I think I gained at least one level.
But after the hunt, this one surviving kobold appeared.
I fought and killed him.
He had a bow, but it was useless. And I just stabbed him dead.

What the hell.
You massacred them.

I think you’re the real villain here.
49: Anonymous
Why? Kobolds are enemies. Aren’t they working for the Demon King?
Or are they just normal residents there?
50: Anonymous
Were those kobolds attacking the village?
Also, what did they look like?
51: Hero from Another World
>>50
The villagers said the kobolds would attract goblins who wanted slaves. And the goblins would attack the village.
Regardless, they were treated as the weakest monsters.
They looked like small humanoid dogs. Furry with tails. Like a mut.
52: Hero from Another World
After a few days, my god told me to attack a fortress that was overrun by monsters.
I was getting close to a level up bonus that would give me perfect magic defense.
And so I wanted some experience.
…And then, I saw him again.
The kobold that I was supposed to have killed.

Why was he there?
Revenge?
54: Anonymous
Now it’s getting interesting.
Is he the one who killed you later?
55: Anonymous
You will get burned if you underestimate something because it’s small.
56: Hero from Another World
>>53
Not like that.
He survived and was captured as a slave.
>>54
Basically. But I had no idea at the time.
Even then, I thought I could kill him instantly.
57: Hero from Another World
Apparently, the kobold was resurrected by my god’s young sister. Salia.
Regardless, I was just going to cut him down again.
However, he fought back, and my armor’s defenses were activated.
In exchange for blocking all enemy attacks, my shield also prevents me from attacking.
It was just for a few seconds, but it gave him enough time to run away.
And then, about two weeks later. He was the one to attack me.

Revenge of the Kobold!

It’s what you deserve!
60: Anonymous

That’s pretty awful defense. You can’t attack while your shield is up?
61: Anonymous
>>60
Total defense shields are death flags. That’s what >>43 said. lol
62: Hero from Another World
Believe me, I complained about it too. But that’s just how it is.
They can’t make things too perfect, or the other gods wouldn’t have a chance.
Back to the story.
We were traveling along a mountain road by horse.
I had become a pretty good rider.
I was talking to Ril as we rode.
And then, some barrels started to fall from the cliffside.
We moved out of the way, and didn’t take any damage.
But the barrels were filled with trash and things that smelled horrible. Elka wanted us to go back, as it was an ambush.
But then Ril was hit by an arrow and fell off her horse.

You didn’t help her? She must be disappointed in you.
64: Anonymous
I guess the armor only protects him. Was this kobold intelligent?
65: Anonymous
The power of the goddess.
By the way, what did that goddess look like?
66: Hero from Another World
Ril was still alive. She told me to not worry about her.
And so I went to fight the kobold.
He came out of the forest.
Now that I think about it, there was something very different about him from that point on.
But I had lowered my guard. So much that Axel and Elka scolded me.
…I really regret it now. I should have been more careful.
The kobold said that he had poisoned the arrows. And when I turned around, I saw that Ril had fainted.
They told me to go and treat Ril…and so I did.
But when I came back, Elka had gone down as well.
And Axel had lost his armor and weapon…

That was fast! Half your party is already gone.

Destroyed by one kobold? What about the others?
69: Hero from Another World
>>63
I could have protected them if I was close. But Ril hated the smell and rushed ahead…
So I didn’t make it in time.
>>65
I only heard her voice.
Harsh, but nice.
But the kobold said she was not very strong.
>>67
>>68
I was shocked too.
Even if they didn’t have items like me, they were still strong and could use magic.
It happened so quickly.
The kobold said that he had friends. But they all died.
because…I killed them, I suppose.
70: Hero from Another World
Axel was attacked by a rust eating monster.
Elka nearly died from a poison arrow.
He said if he couldn’t kill me, he would kill my friends.
I was pissed off. But also scared.
Suddenly, I thought the others might die. And my mind went blank.
Elka gave some orders, but I couldn’t move properly.
In the end, neither of the other two could do anything.
I chased the kobold into the mountains then.

I don’t know how you didn’t realize it.
It was a trap to separate you from the others.
72: Anonymous
>>1
I don’t know if it was the kobold or goddess who came up with it. But he seems smart.
73: Anonymous
>>1
What about your bracelet? You didn’t say what it does.
74: Hero from Another World
>>73
It uses three kinds of magic. An arrow that always hits its target. An explosion. And lightning magic.
By that pont, I had already used it twice.
But the kobold had blocked it, and so he took no damage. He used things like Axel’s armor as a shield. It was clear that he had thought of it beforehand.
He told me that his name was Sheto.
And then he challenged me to a duel.
It’s something that Heroes can do. You are placed in a closed off field where no one else can enter.
Accepted. Which meant I had to fight him for three days…
75: Anonymous
In other words, that’s where you died.
76: Anonymous
Was it three days because that’s when you died? Or is that just the time limit?
77: Anonymous
You didn’t know about the kobold’s abilities?
Your god seems like such an idiot. lol
78: Hero from Another World
>>77
I have a lot that I want to say about him too.
He was doing all kinds of things behind my back.
Agreeing to not give me advice or extra blessings during the duel.
After he told me that, we weren’t able to talk at all.
If he hadn’t done that… No, it might not have mattered.
He was that stupid.
>>76
The barrier lasts for three days.
The kobold was going to try and stretch it out as long as possible.
But I wanted to end it quickly.
As for the kobold’s abilities. I don’t know.
He had some enchantment to boost arrows and something for defense. That was about it.
But even he said he had no attacks that could get through my armor. And his arrows did nothing.
Of course, the most important thing was that he was a hunter.
79: Anonymous
>>1
Stupid god. lol
He would be pissed if he could read this. Haha.
Though, he did give you all of that power. So you have no one to blame but yourself.
80: Anonymous
Gods really are stupid and selfish. Damn. lol
…Well, I guess a hunter would use traps?
Even without advice from your god, I don’t see how you could lose.
I hope it’s not something stupid. Like the armor doesn’t work against traps that aren’t meant to hurt you?
81: Hero from Another World
>>80
The barrier is a sphere. And it blocks things that would hurt me. Most of his traps did not work.
However, it did not activate with things like ropes.
Well, I’ll write what happened then.
To be honest, I hate thinking about it.
I have so many regrets.
What happened in the dark…I will never forget.
