Kamigami – 52 Part 3

‘Rediculous! I…I am Salia’s…Salia’s Ganari!’

“Heh… Ahahahahahaha!”

After the kobold shouted out painfully, the Seer laughed without restraint.

“Did you hear that? The kobold used a lowly hunter name to refer to himself.”

Canila glared at him.

“Please stop that. I do not like to hear anyone speak ill of him.”
“What…?”

Sheto had hesitated then, because he was not sure what his position was. He was chased by monsters. He killed Heroes. He had sworn to hunt everything in order to change his fate. And so he could not declare himself a Hero.

“He had his reasons for saying that. And to laugh at him…”
“How pathetic. To spread such dreary sentiment in my sacred domain…”

‘Salia… I’ve never heard that name. Well, a goddess who uses monsters is not likely to be worshipped by humans.’

“That is true. Indeed, a goddess who won in such shallow ways, and robbed other gods of their worlds… She deserves to be looked down on.”

On the other side, Sheto pulled his bowstring.

However, he did not seem to have as strong a will as before.

‘I, I decided, to hunt all Heroes and…the Demon King! And so, I…won’t join you!’

‘Oh? I can’t ignore that then…’

Even from the other side of the mirror, he could sense the change that came over the minotaur. He gripped the battleaxe tightly and went into a lower stance. His eyes looked at the small monster with murderous rage.

‘You are very capable and have a strange connection with a god. But…’

He breathed through the anger and took a step forward.

‘I will not allow you to go against my master!’

It was like a wave of steel.

The minotaur rushed forward like the wind. As if he was not covered in heavy armor.

Sheto could not stop him with an arrow. He could not dodge him in time. He was too frozen to do anything.

Sheto was consumed by despair…

“Gyaaaau!”

Before he knew what was happening, his body was flying into the air, and the minotaur grazed him.

Beyond the dark shadow, he saw the white wolf being thrown to the side.

“Guto!”

Sheto slammed into the ground, and the impact brought him back. Time flowed normally again.

Guto, who had been so lively a moment ago, was now lying on the ground and coughing blood.

“I see. A good move. He is well-trained. But it wasted its life for nothing.”

Dust swirled around the minotaur, who had suddenly stopped and turned around.

“To die protecting a weak master, whose life would not make a difference.”

“Ah…arghhhhh!”

With three layers of divine authority on the arrowhead, Sheto pulled the bowstring back and then unleashed it.

The minotaur’s axe went up and knocked the arrow out of the air with one sweep.

“What is that light attack… Are you scared? Now that your friend is killed?”

“Tsk…”
‘Sheto! Stay calm! Guto is fine!’

As he heard Salia’s voice, the wolf’s body began to shine. And then he shakily rose to his feet.

“…So that is the divine authority. You really do have a contract with a god then.”

The minotaur looked like he was watching a strange miracle. Then he began to laugh happily.

“You, an ordinary kobold? Don’t make me laugh. A goddess’s protection, miracles, the ability to hunt Heroes. Someone who can do that is no ordinary monster!”

‘Don’t listen to him, Sheto! We have a contract and trust between us. That is all! Don’t listen to the words of one who knows nothing!’

“Let me say it again, kobold. Join my master!”

“No! I…I will hunt, the Demon King!”

He shouted desperately. Indeed, this minotaur was strong. But he was someone who Sheto would have to hunt eventually anyway.

How could he hunt him? That was all he needed to think about.

“I see. So you will still resist… Then it cannot be helped.”

The minotaur went into a low stance again.

“I will not hold back. Still, try not to die. The Demon King will be furious with me.”

Sheto put away his bow and took out Nagayubi, and enveloped it in red and white protection. This was like hunting a boar.

He could not hunt it with his own bow alone.
