“Hey, hey. Are you awake!?”
A voice rang from outside of the cage. Sheto pretended to be asleep, but the voice became irritated and something hit the iron bars.
“Hey! Get up! You damned dog!”
Suddenly, there were other voices ringing, and then heavy footsteps.
“What is it? Is he awake?”
“Boss. He’s pretending to sleep! I heard him whispering!”
“Hey…are you awake?”
Sheto sat up and glared back at the bull headed monster.
“You’re in better shape than I expected.”
“…You, said I’d be, Demon King’s guest.”
Sheto extended his arms out.
“Does the Demon King, put shackles, on guests?”
“Hmm… Bah. Ahahahahaha!”
Berganda burst into laughter.
“Ah, but my master warned us. If you were free to move around, then you would try to escape.”
“Monsters all around. I, have no weapons. And am alone.”
“Even so, you seem too calm right now. You glared right back at me.”
Sheto sighed and turned away.
“Hey! Look at me!”
“If not take off shackles, then no use for you.”
“You filthy dog! I’ll kill you!”
“If you do, I’ll rip off your head! You fool!”
The goblin ran away after being shouted at. Berganda chuckled with amusement.
“While I can’t free you, I can give you something else.”
“…What?”
“You slept for two whole nights. So you must be getting hungry. Surely you’d want to eat something?”
Indeed, Sheto was quite hungry. Alo, the monsters that had gathered around the wagon began to scatter again.
“It’s time to rest and eat. What do you say? Will you eat too?”
“Aye.”
Sheto said over his shoulder.
“As long as, it’s not poison.”
The demon general burst into laughter again.

When Keita woke up, he felt a horrible pain in his head.
Also his body felt heavy like lead as it sunk in the bed. He groaned.
‘Keita… You’re awake.’
He could hear the relief in Canila’s voice.
“Where…am I?”
‘Lindle village… You were found near the gate…and they took you here.’
There was something awkward in her voice. Keita sat up and then realized what was wrong in his surroundings.
This was not his own hut. The walls were made of burned wooden planks. As the whole room was made of them, and since it was a square, he felt as if he was in a box.
The bed was perfectly made with clean blankets and sheets.
There was only one door and a small window. He felt like he was in a small hotel room.
“Is this really…Lindle?”
‘Yes. This is…’
Her voice was interrupted by a light knock on the door. Without waiting for a reply, a man entered.
“So you are awake, Hero of Lindle Village, Keita Saegusa.”
“Who are you?”
“My name is Vengras. I am the strategist for Yasuharu Hanuma. The Seer’s Hero.”
He was a young man in blue robes and a casual smile.
“How do you feel?”
“My head…hurts a little…”
“I see. We have received reports as well. How the Demon King appeared… I am glad that you survived.”
While they talked, several priestesses entered with water, medicine and soup.
“Please eat… Later, I would like to tell you about the situation in the village…”
“Ah…yes…”
He accepted the medicine and ate.
“First, two days have passed since you collapsed.”
“…I was sleeping for that long…”
“The Demon King. He must have used some kind of curse that combined necromancy with miasma. If you were in a weaker state, and had not got proper treatment, you would have likely died.”
“Um…and where is Sheto…?”
He could remember that moment no.
The moment when the Minotaur was about to kill him. Keita had fallen unconscious while Sheto desperately tried to distract him.
“I do not know. But according to our scouts, a single kobold was seen in a cage.”
“…I see.”
Apparently, he was alive. Perhaps it was too soon to be relieved, but it was still something.
“Ah, that’s right! Was there a small dragon in the cage as well?”
“No.”
The smile vanished from the man’s face in an instant.
“We have received no reports of that.”
It was almost strange how quickly he said it. That being said, surely he had no way of knowing about Fi, who was with the kobold pack.
