“Regardless of what you were thinking when you acted, it is clear that you were trying to aid the monsters whenever you had a chance.”
“That is not true! I was only trying to protect Sheto!”
“Yes. A kobold called Sheto.”
After all, kobolds were monsters.
“In the first place, there is another suspicion I’ve had in regards to your actions.”
“Suspicion…?”
“When you defeated Zephalis’s Hero. It seemed like a victory won through desperacy. However, what if that kobold had been prepared by the Demon King in advance?”
“That is a ridiculous accusation! That was the first time I met Sheto…”
“Oh? Didn’t I hear that before? Goddess of Peace?”
“No! I am not allied with the Demon King!”
“I see that the monster’s disguise is slipping off now. Then let me ask you one other question. How did the kobold gain such an advantage? How was he able to turn the whole mountain into a trap to catch Zephalis’s Hero? Who gave him that knowledge?”
That victory was the result of Sheto’s knowledge as a hunter, and her own familiarity with the terrain.
“It was just one of the places I sometimes wandered. Besides, before I met Sheto, I had no intention of participating in the games!”
“But at that point, it should have been too late to join… But then you suddenly came in saying you would do it to save the kobold. It really is a strange story.”
The eyes around her turned to suspicion. Indeed, she had only saved Sheto because of her own will.
But the Seer was changing their perception to make her look like a traitor.
“You are known to have a one-sided grudge against the games. So perhaps you have allied with the monsters in order to cause chaos in the celestial world.”
“Nonsense! I would not do such a…”
But she would be lying if she said that there was no hatred towards the games. But that one thing was turning her entire being into something dark.
“Now, if all of you gods here could remember something. When Saliashe’s Hero killed the hundred others… Who did Evacus say that he allied with…?”
Salia felt despair when the Seer said those words. Her meeting with Evacus. Their cooperation. All of it was just a coincidence. It was supposed to be.
“A lesser god with the role of a plague god. And yet he had such a bold plan to swallow up all of the other gods. Surely he would have only done something like that with encouragement?”
“You are saying that I send him, using the power of monsters!?”
“A mythril golem and wyvern.”
The ominous words poured from his mouth. What followed was as bad as she had expected.
“How did Evacus’s Hero find such rare monsters?”
“How would I know? Such monsters are from dungeons that I don’t…”
“We all know that you and Evacus were speaking in secret. Can you prove that you did not give him information?”
It was all just a delusion.
“Well, have you no answer? While I do not have all of the evidence yet, we can all see how strange Saliasghe’s actions have been up until now. And so I would like to make a request to have her stripped of the right to participate in the game.”
“This is a false accusation. I am not in league with the monsters!”
“That is no longer important. As long as we have doubts, none of the gods wish you to be a part of it.”
Salia turned to look at the others. She could see the distrust on their faces.
“Do not worry. Even if you have been dishonest, you will not be cut off immediately. If you repent of your ways, we will have mercy.”
“St…stop…”
She groaned.
This was just like that other time. Without being able to resist, her star was ravaged and destroyed.
“Do you think…do you think that this will be allowed? To make false accusations and use lies to suppress any objections? You are trying t o use the others to tarnish my name!”
“I gave you a chance to prove me wrong. And you were unable to do so. You should be ashamed of your lack of intelligence.”
He said, and then turned to the empty air.
“Come out, Yesta.”
“I am here.”
The goddess in black who wielded the clock staff appeared.
“Here is my command, goddess of time and judge of the games. With the consent of the other gods, I demand that Saliashe’s right to participate in the games be revoked!”
“As you wish.”
