Kamigami – 60 Part 4

Yesta raised her staff high into the air. The numerous gears turned, as if carving out the decree.

“As all of the gods agree, I hereby…”

But just as she was about to make the declaration.

‘I object!’

A low, deep voice broke through the cold air.

When they looked up, there was a shadow cast by a giant form. It descended with a beat of its wings onto the grass. And then it settled on the ground in its golden glory. The dragon god turned to Salia and nodded with a smile.

“It seems you’ve been beaten badly, Salia.”

“Ah…”

He chuckled while seeing her relief.

“Fool. This is no time to be acting in such a way.”

Furukamuto seemed to have lost all of his cool as he glared at the dragon. But the golden dragon was unmoved as he continued to laugh loudly.

“Oh, but it is best to laugh when one is being pushed to the edge. That is the way to get out of trouble and win.”
“Yes… Your words humble me deeply.”

“Do not mention it. In the first place, it’s just a quote from a game that I like.”

“What are you even doing here now?”

The Seer looked at him with disapproval. It wasn’t just about how his plan had been interrupted. He was irritated by the dragon god in general.

“Why, isn’t it obvious? I came down here because I objected to your declaration.”

“So you came to defend Saliashe. But the deliberations are all but finished. You should leave now, and spare yourself any trouble.”
“Hmm? So did I mishear it then? Something about how all of the gods were in agreement…”

He was pointing out a contradiction.

And the dragon god had enough authority to break the Seer’s spell.

“I, Elm Aud, object to this decision. Now, Seer. I think that your claim of ‘all of the gods agreeing’ has been proven to be false.”

“You are Saliashe’s friend. And so your biased words are of little worth.”
“I object.”

The dragon said.

“Then let me ask you again. If you claimed all of the gods were in agreement, then this decision was not valid from the beginning. Besides, there are other gods who are unable to make their opinion known, due to the games. I do not know how you ever thought to make such a claim.”

“The defeated have nothing to say! In the first place, had Zephalis had more sense, none of this would have happened!”

“I can agree with that. However, there is one other important thing that you have forgotten.”

Now that the tables had turned, the dragon god spoke more cheerfully.

“When deciding something that will alter the tide within the game, how is it that none of the other four pillars are here? Are they not included when you made the claim of ‘all of the gods’?”

“…!”

The Seer’s face clouded at their mention. And then Salia realized it.

“You…did not want them to be here. Because they would know that your words were just claims to knock me down. And they would surely disagree with you…”

“Not a single one of them would have agreed with this charade.”

“But even if they did not agree, they would not object! They have their own business! I did not need to involve them in something this insignificant!”

“In that case, you should not have said that all of the gods were in agreement, Seer. Even if you wanted to set the mood and increase the momentum to bring down Salia.”

The effect of the Seer’s words, and the mist that had come over the other gods, was now fading. Instead, they were replaced with anxiety and even anger.

“But there she has still not been proven innocent! The kobold. Evacus’s monsters. And the victory against Zephalis. All of it suggests that she is involved with the monsters!”
“Wait!”

Salia said loudly.

The shackles of his words were loosened, and she was now able to attack.

“Arbiter of the games, let us prove it to them.”
