“Hyaaah!”
A figure with a sword resting on his shoulder jumped out and slammed into Sheto.
“Kah!”
Sheto desperately stepped back and under the attacker. A moment later, a blade slashed at him from the right.
“Ahhhh!?”
Sheto rolled on the ground, managing to dodge it, but then the pursuer dashed towards him.
“Follow me, Meshe!”
“Aye!”
Slashes towards his face and feet from the side.
He had left his hand and leg guards. If the attacks landed, his limbs would be cut off.
“Gaaaahhh!”
He held his bow up and jumped backwards. The three layers of protection was just enough to nullify the enemy’s attack, but the impact sent the kobold flying into the air.
“Now! Farnan!”
As his vision blurred, something tore through the trees and came down.
“Die! Experience points!”
The figure held daggers between its fingers on both hands, and it launched them at Sheto who was still in the air.
‘Sheto!’
He felt the pain as they pierced into his raised arm. Some scratched his side, tearing away cloth and skin.
“Gah…”
He slammed onto the ground without being able to land in a defensive position. At the same time, the pain spread through his whole body. While he had not hit his head, he was shaken to the core.
“Don’t give it a chance to get up. Take it down at once!”
The three figures rushed towards their prey.
Sheto glared at the knife in his arm, and then gritted his teeth as he pulled it out and threw it at the attacker.
“Aghhhhh!”
“Huh!?
Without looking at the attacker who balked, he ran straight for the river.
‘Did they follow you while invisible!? But how did they know Sheto’s position?’
‘Salia! Change your view to a farther distance!’
‘Farther… Wh-what is this…!’
The sounds of armor, the vibrations of boots hitting the earth pursued him from behind. As Sheto ran from it all desperately, he heard the frantic voices of the gods above.
‘By being above the point where we view from the mirrors, they avoided being within our vision! To think that such a silly trick would work on me!’
‘Never mind that! Sheto, you must go out to the river!’
As Salia’s voice rang, he could see light pouring in from between the trees.
Without hesitation, he jumped over the bushes and towards the river. Before he knew it, the rising moon was shining like a white stone above the water.
The river was deep, and the bank was a steep cliff. He could not cross it from here.
Also, a new figure had appeared by the river.
‘An ambush, huh?’
Under the moonlight, a giant, rock-like man stood. And in front of him, a short man.
The strange pair brandished their weapons.
As if to match their movements, the pursuers leapt over the bushes and stood behind Sheto.
“Ah, it’s been a while.”
Sheto turned around, and his eyes widened in surprise.
The man with the longsword smiled as he panted.
It was the villager he had seen before in Lindle Village. Poro.
And so they finally meet again.
Thank you again for the chapter, Jawbrie.
