Kamigami – 68 Part 1

Chapter 14 – Giant Beast Hunting

“Why are you looking at me like that? Are you so surprised to see me?”

The man laughed. He was wearing armor and held a sword.

His mouth was twisted into an expression that could either be joy or anger.

“You, became a Hero’s stooge.”

“Ah, I have. The God’s power has made me a Hero. Just like you.”

Thanks to the treatment power, the pain in his arms was reduced. He had looked at the wounds, and there were no traces of poison. That being said, this situation was the worst.

“I see. I heard that your wounds heal automatically. That is quite impressive.”

The woman with leather armor and a longsword stopped at Poro’s left. On his right was the man who had thrown the knives. He was thin and tall.

“I thought we had him for sure, but he seems to know how to fight.”

“However, he lost his bow. Now it’s our turn.”

Declared the big man with the war hammer in a low voice. While he wasn’t as big as Berganda, he looked intimidating in his heavy armor. And Sheto doubted his attacks would do much damage.

“Chipping away at the enemy. It’s a basic strategy, but this kobold is thorough.”

The short, plump man held a staff and must be a magician of some sort.

‘I see. That one is dangerous.’

Said the Dragon God, sounding both exasperated and impressed.

‘Sheto. This is no time for a fair fight. They were raised by the Seer to destroy you.’

“Me-me?”

‘Well, you and Berganda, to be precise. A special unit that was created to take down monsters that ordinary soldiers would struggle against.’

The large man held up his hammer and glared at Sheto. The magician appeared to be focusing on his magic.

“I’ll leave you to block its escape, captain.”

“I know. Meshe, Farnan, keep you guard up!”

They moved out as if to surround him. And then the big man started to walk slowly towards Sheto.

Just as he suspected, he would not be fast enough to follow Sheto’s movements. The problem was the magician behind him.

‘Rush past them all at once! Attack the magician to hold him back and stop the spell!’

Sheto didn’t have to be told. He lowered his stance. While he had lost his bow, he still had his arrows.

He pulled one out and threw it at the big man.

“Hmph!”

The hammer was pulled back and he knocked the arrow down with the handle.

In the next instant, Sheto rushed past him.

“Leodor!”

“I know!”

While keeping the chanting magician in his vision, he rushed towards the river.

Behind him, he could sense the murderous rage.

“ARRRGHHHHH!!”

There was a roar, and then the hammer slammed into the ground.

Crushed stone and dirt flew into the air and hit Sheto in the back.

“Gaah!”

The same impact hit the magician and warrior as well, but they were protected by a barrier.

“Another one!”

He took a step forward and the hammer rained down over Sheto as if to crush him. Sheto desperately dodged it, and the mass of iron landed in front of his eyes, splitting the ground once again.

“Gaah!”

Even with the protections, the stones hurt his muscles and bones as they slammed into him.

‘Sheto! Just get the magician!’

He ignored the pain and reached for his quiver, but his hand came back empty. His trusted projectile had been torn away by a chain of light.

“Normally, it’s used for binding. But it has some tricks, as you can see.”
“Damn it.”
