I hired new employees
“And so…there is one more?”
“Yes. If you agree…of course. She had already left the orphanage and was working.”
Apparently, she had returned a short while ago.
She had been working at a place outside of Ractos…but lost her job when the company went bankrupt.
“This is Karula. She was working in sales, so…perhaps that is not what you will be doing in Range Village… But I thought I brought her anyway. I know this is very sudden, and that you will probably reject her…”
“Please. I will do my best!”
“I see… Hmm…”
They both bowed their heads.
The other two bowed as well.
Well, it wasn’t like I had a fixed number of employees and could not hire additional people.
And Ms. Anna had brought her, which would suggest this person could be trusted.
Also, if she worked in sales…she would probably not do well in the fields. Perhaps in the office or…

“Ms. Karula, is it?”
“Ye-yes!”
She looked up at me with a nervous expression.
“I suppose since you worked in sales, you are good at making calculations?”
“Yes! And I have an excellent memory when it comes to products and prices! Also, I have a lot of experience with customers!”
In this world, reading and writing were considered important for work, and so they were taught to children, even at the orphanage. But there were a lot of people who were not good at math.
“In that case, you can help with selling the herbs and medicine.”
“Do you mean it!?”
“Yes. Of course, you will not be doing everything at once. We can start slowly and see what happens.”
It seemed there was little reason to doubt her ability to deal with customers.
“Th-thank you so much!”
“Yes. Umm… Ah, there. Keith!”
I turned my head to look for him. When I called, he came over right away.
“You called, Mr. Takumi?”
“I’m sorry, but this here is Ms. Karula. I need you to tell her about Range Village. I decided to hire her to help with sales of herbs and medicine in the village.”
“That was a very…hasty decision. Uh, certainly. Come this way, Ms. Karula.”
“Ye-yes!”
I left the rest to Keith, as he knew a lot about such work and the business side of things.
“Ms. Anna. Where are their belongings…”
“Ah, yes. They are over here.”
“In that case…”
“We will load them into the carriage.”
“Thank you.”
Alfred and some of the others helped with the luggage.
“Mr. Takumi, you’re always so quick to hire people. You generally do it on the spot.”
Claire said with a look of surprise.
“Well, it was pretty good timing, I suppose.”
We were on our way to Range Village, after all.
“And I suppose I can trust in Ms. Anna’s judgement.”
“Thank you…”
I wasn’t confident in my own judgement and knew that I could be a little indecisive.
But after seeing how Ms. Anna had done such a good job with the people from the orphanage, I knew that I could trust her.
Milina was working very hard, and the other servants from the orphanage, like Ms. Lyra, were all very capable.
