Kamigami – 75 Part 6

“There he is! Over there!”

“My voice is a horn that calls for war. With its merciless might, answer my summons!”

“Stop his chanting! Shoot him down!”

Silver crests appeared, and a volley of magic bullets were unleashed all at once.

However, every one of them was deflected and shattered to pieces.

“As though weeping, as though laughing, sing together the hymn of annihilation.”

The sheer mass of gathered luminous energy, along with the intense heat of the spell on the verge of activation, repelled everything around him, blasting the attacks away.

The soldiers who had surrounded him then cried out in shock and slowly began to retreat.

‘All of you! Run away if you wish to live!’

Canila shouted. The soldiers realized what was happening and began to run at full speed.

And then Keita ended it.

“Dragonflame Annihilation.”

In an instant, the world blazed white-hot.

Though his eyes were shut tight, the flames scorched his vision. And the outwards flames were burning against his skin.

As for the surrounding tents, they were reduced to ash along with everything inside them. Those who had failed to escape the raging inferno let out faint cries before collapsing onto the ground.

‘N-now! Run straight forward!’

Keita covered his face with his arms and ran.

It was magic of the highest level, which he should not have been able to use. And now it was blasting away every obstacle in Keita’s path.

‘In theory, any magician can cast any spell. Of course, since they do not have the power to gather and maintain sufficient energy, things become naturally limited.’

The method devised to solve that problem was engraving standby spells into mithril.

Magic energy that would normally have to be gathered on the spot was sealed inside in advance, then consumed when needed.

‘Of course, no magician would use mithril in this way. It is a precious mineral, after all. And if properly forged, it can contain magic indefinitely.’

However, they didn’t need it to last that long.

Just a moment. Just enough to stagger the enemy.

‘Keita! The flames are ending! The Hero’s camp is right in front of you!’

Canila shouted and Keita’s eyes widened.

The flames were being held back, as if that spot alone had been cut out.

And in front of the enormous tent where the Hero was, two figures stood facing him. Their arms were thrust forward, one knee on the ground, their faces twisted in pain. A stout magician and a swordswoman who wielded spirits.

“Damn it… That it would have such an effect…”
“Such great magic in such a short time…”

‘…Those two have been blocking the power of the magic. This is perfect.’

As if shielding the two of them, a hulking man and a handsome man supported the magician. And standing in his way was a furious Poro.

“You really did it now. You damned Hero!”

With his face flushed with anger, he drew his sword. Around them, the screams of soldiers rang out, along with shouts of men scrambling to put out the fires.

Only five enemies stood here now. Two of them were too exhausted to move, and the comrades shielding them seemed wary of Keita’s magic. And so they were unable to act as freely as they wanted.

“What the hell do you intend? Do you even understand what you’re doing!?”

“Of course, I do. I’m going to defeat the Seer’s Hero. And wipe his army from this world.”

Poro’s expression passed beyond anger, turning into something terribly cold.

“In other words, it’s just about getting revenge because your village was taken from you. And you’re even willing to team up with monsters for it. So you toy with the people of this world on a whim?”

“That’s not… I just wanted…”

Keita opened his mouth, but he was unable to continue.

It was true that he still held a grudge towards the Seer.

He also understood that Poro was right. If he defeated the Hero like this, it would cause chaos in the world.
