We reunited with the others at the east gate
“You look very good, waving your hand like this, Mr. Takumi.”
“I’m just copying you, Claire. Haha.”
As children and adults were waving to us, I ended up waving back the whole time.
Claire was also looking in both directions and waving her hand. You could tell that she was used to doing this.
After that, we spotted other people, such as the children of the orphanage, Mr. Haines, Ms Isabelle, etcetera.
Liza shouted excitedly when she saw Ms. Isabelle, and waved her hands energetically.
I was worried that she would jump off of Fen and run towards her… Thankfully, she did not.
Regardless, we went around like this through Ractos for about two hours, and then arrived at the east gate.
“I didn’t really see anyone who looked angry.”
“Indeed… It is proof that most people have a good opinion of Mr. Takumi and Leo. That being said, I don’t think every single person was pleased…”
While we were resting at the gate, I overheard Sebastian and Alfred’s conversation.
There had been no attacks or thrown rocks, like Sebastian had suggested.
Though, I suppose there had been a few men who were glaring at me. Which seemed to suggest there were people who were in love with Claire.
“There were a few women as well, which was scary… If anything, they might have been more upset than the men.”
I had been bracing myself for some men to glare at me…but not women. But Claire seemed to be quite popular with women as well.
“What is it, Mr. Takumi?”
“Uh, it’s nothing. I’m just glad that we were able to do that.”
“Yes. From now on, I want more people to know that I am yours. And that you are mi… Oh, what am I saying…”
“Uh…”
She suddenly looked embarrassed by her own words.
I was not sure how to respond.
Regardless, she seemed to be in her own world again.
“Lady Claire, Mr. Takumi. I look forward to working with you.”
“Yes, thank you, Emeralda.”
We then met up with Ms. Emeralda and the others, including Nick.
It was time to say goodbye to Ms. Anna.
“Ms. Anna. We will take good care of them.”
“Yes. Thank you.”
Ms. Anna looked at the children playing with Liza, Leo and Tilura, and then she bowed her head.
She looked a little sad. I suppose parting with them made her feel conflicted.
“Brother! I’m happy to go with you!”
“Nick. Well, things will be mostly the same, I think?”
After we said goodbye to Ms. Anna, I went to talk to Nick.
He always seemed happy to see me.
“Mr…Nick? There is something I want to ask you. Do you have time?”
“Tilura? Ah, I see. Nick. Could you talk to her and tell her what you know?”
While I was talking, Tilura approached us. At first I wondered what she wanted with Nick, but then I remembered that she was interested in the slums.
She was still earnest in her desire to change things in Ractos.
I would have to ask Aloysius to watch over her and make sure that she doesn’t do anything dangerous…
