Day 119: The Great Sea Monster Kraken Battle.
Holy Era 6102, Month of the Moon Sheep, 10th day.
Weather: Sunny
It’s morning…it’s morning now.
800 Adventurers of Marga Town were going to take on the kraken.
The port was crowded with numerous people.
We walked through the waves of onlookers and reached the front of the ship.
Three galleon ships would be taking part in this operation, including a guild vessel.
Yes, the guild ship will be heading out as well…as the flagship.
I now understand why the Adventurers Guild of this town was a galleon ship.
We would be boarding the guild ship called the Tormenta.
That meant being separated from Ms. Shu’s party, but it could not be helped.
Some time after we boarded, the sounds of trumpets echoed around us… It was time to depart.
As the people of the town watched us, the three ships moved slowly away.
We arrived at the area around midday… It was very hot. Even more so out in the open sea.
As I thought of such things, I heard a sharp metal ring coming from above the mast!
It was the warning alarm from the watcher! Wh-where!? Where is the kraken!?
As I looked around, a giant pillar of water suddenly shot out in front of the ship!
And then it appeared from within. The giant squid…the sea beast! The kraken!
Without hiding or running away, it appeared boldly in front of us like the ruler of the sea that it was.
…A-are we really going to be able to beat this thing!?
Everyone stood there, unable to move. And then a roar shook the air.
It was the firing of the Tormenta’s cannon.
Commence battle! Shouted Captain Ed. And with that, everyone began to move at once.
The unleashing of cannon balls, magic, shouts… In an instant, it was a chaotic battle.
Ms. Noa fired off dozens of massive harpoons at once using magic. The harpoons were so large they normally couldn’t be launched without a catapult.
Ms. Nico was throwing bottles that exploded upon impact.
Everyone was so amazing… I have to do my best as well… Though, all I could do was throw harpoons.
However, the kraken was not just going to wait around and be hit.
Two tentacles rose out of the water and smashed into the ships.
It was up to the magicians to put a stop to it.
They put up their strongest barriers to protect the ships.
However, the impact could not be swallowed up completely, and the ships creaked loudly. At the same time, storm-like waves rocked the ship.
It felt like you would be thrown off the ship if you lowered your guard even a little.
One mistake and you would be making your way to the bottom of the sea… It was that kind of desperate battle.
This continued until the sun began to descend, and the kraken finally fell onto its side in the sea.
The giant body sank slowly and quietly into the water. It was difficult to believe what we were seeing. Still, once we saw the lifeless body swaying in the waves, cheers erupted from all of the ships.
We won! We won!!
We had all worked together in order to defeat the kraken!
As I shook under this realization, Ms. Nico and Ms. Noa smiled and threw their arms around me.
I was so glad that they were unharmed.
Now, let’s return to Marga town! The kraken hunt was a great success!
