It was just as a point of reference
“When you are troubled, being able to share it will half the pain and suffering. On the other hand, when you are happy, the feeling of joy will be doubled if you can share it with someone. That is how I feel. Of course, you also don’t want to force those feelings onto someone all of the time either…”
It was a matter of perspective, I suppose.
Well, I did not have much experience in such matters. So what I was saying was really my ideal, now that I was with Claire.
“Together… Sharing the good and the bad with Mr. Takumi…”
Claire put her hands on her cheeks and appeared to be in a daze.
“Uh, Claire? Come back!”
“Ah! It was nothing. I was not fantasizing about living with you happily…or anything like that!”
While I was supporting her from behind, she did not have the same sense of balance as Ms. Lugretta, and so there was a danger of her falling. And so I had to bring her back to the present.
Claire looked wide-eyed for a moment and muttered her explanation.
She was not very convincing.
“Hmm…I see… By sharing your troubles, you can cut them in half. And by sharing joys, they are doubled… I can understand that.”
Ms. Lugretta nodded solemnly. She looked a little jealous as she watched me and Claire.
She could tell how much we got along.
“Well, that is just my opinion… And Mr. Eu… Um, this other person. Might be thinking something very different.”
“Is-is that so?”
“Just like women have their preferences, men are also different from each other.”
While it is good to hear other people’s opinion, you should not believe it as fact. That could be dangerous.
“I see…”
“…I think it’s almost time to stop for lunch.”
“Ah, yes.”
The horses in the lead were moving away from the road and in the direction of the forest.
It was to prepare for lunch and allow the horses to rest.
As the fenrirs would be hungry and the horses would get tired, we had decided in advance to rest often.
“In any case, I hope you will only use what you heard here for reference, Ms. Lugretta. I will also try and gather some opinions from others. Especially one certain person.”
“Um…please don’t mention my name…”
“Of course. I know this is all about your friend, and not you. But I will leave your name out of it anyway.”

“Yes. I want to hear more about this… Besides, Jane and Hermine are rather experienced in such things. So you should listen to them. Don’t you agree, Mr. Takumi?”
“Well, Jane is married to Alfred. So I suppose so…”
“I would be glad to listen to what she has to say!”
Claire realized that I was going to be talking with all of the men, and so she decided to have a little girls party of her own.
Ms. Lugretta was a little surprised at first, but she became enthusiastic when she realized a married woman would be there.
I doubted our boys night would last very long, but the girls…
I had a feeling they would be very loud tonight.
I just hoped that Claire and the others would actually get enough sleep…
