I thanked Leo for helping during the journey
“Here, Leo. Like this?”
“Wuff?”
While the horses and fenrirs rested, I took out a brush and started to brush Leo.
Normally, I would do this after cleaning her, but I had noticed that some of her fur was tangled while we were riding.
She was still comfortable to sit on, of course. But I wanted to do it as a way of thanking her.
It was the size of a horse brush, and I brushed her head to her tail gently. Leo sighed with pleasure.
“Wou! Wuff!”
“She seems to really enjoy it. Is this something we can do as well?”
“You can… If they let you. Though, there are so many fenrirs, so it will be a lot of work.”
“We’ll do our best! Besides, there is Ms. Emeralda and the children as well.”
“Haha. I see.”
Ms. Chita came to see what we were doing.
The fenrirs had been watching me use the brush as well… But there were so many of them, so it was unlikely they could all be brushed during our rest.
Well, I suppose they could take turns, and it might be a good experience for the children.
And so Ms. Chita went to get more brushes.
“Kyau. Kyau!”
“Hehe. You like it?”
“Kyau!”
“Oh? You prefer it on your stomach? Very well.”
I could hear Sherry and Claire from a short distance away.
Claire was brushing Sherry with a small brush.
She did it often at the mansion, and was used to it. Shery was currently lying on her back and moving her legs happily.
“Alright then… Ms. Gelda, Milina. Please take care of Leo.”
“Yes!”
“Certainly, master!”
After brushing Leo for some time, I traded with Ms. Gelda and Milina, who had also been watching.
“Not too strong… Yes, like when she is being bathed…”
“Wou… Wuff!??”
“Haha. Don’t worry, Leo. We’re just brushing you. There will be no bath right now.”
“Wuff…”
“Mmph…!”
“Ah, Milina. Don’t pull so hard when the brush gets stuck. Just go gently as if stroking it, and untangle the fur. As if it was your own hair.”
“Hmm… It’s a little difficult to know how much force to use. After all, I do it hard even when it hurts my scalp.”
“Uh… I think you’re going to go bald if you keep that up. Better be careful…”
Apparently, she was not gentle when it came to her own hair.
When I first met her at the orphanage, it was right after she had recovered from an illness, so her hair was messy. But she was well groomed now.
“Ah!”
“Hey, Gelda! That hurts!”
“So-sorry, Fairinette.”
“…It’s your fault for remaining in Leo’s fur when you know she is being brushed.”
Apparently, Ms. Gelda’s brush had hit Fairinette.
“Hey…I’m stuck! I can’t get out!”
“Oh, no! I’ll untangle you, Fairenette. But please don’t move!”
“That hurts! Stop pulling, Gelda!”
“Wuff…”
Leo sighed at the strange tug of war that was occurring on her back.
It seemed like she didn’t mind that her fur was being pulled.
“Mr. Takumi. Here.”
“Thank you, Ms. Lyra. Now, Liza. I can brush your tails!”
“Yes, papa!”
Ms. Lyra brought me a brush that was the same as the one Claire was using on Sherry.
Liza’s tails wagged excitedly.
“Now, don’t move too much. Or I won’t be able to brush them.”
“Sorry…”
“Well, I know you can’t control it sometimes. Still, try to calm down.”
“Okay!”
When Leo was being brushed, she always stayed still and her tail slowed down. If only Liza would copy that…
