You could say that fenrir are not vicious
“That being said…there sure are a lot of fenrirs here.”
Mr. Ekenhart muttered while walking towards the house.
While it did not look like it bothered him, it was only natural to be surprised when there were this many.
They were well-behaved, and did not mind carrying people or being petted, so I had forgotten. But they were normally feared by people and seen as vicious.
“Haha. That’s true. Feri brought them so that they can be used to being around people…it surprised me at first too.”
“It would. At first, I thought it was the start of a war.”
“A war…”
Well, after seeing Feri and Fen fight, perhaps it made sense that Mr. Euto would think that.
Though, I did not feel anything vicious from the fenrirs at all.
It was difficult for me to see them as scary monsters.
“I would probably think the same if I saw the fenrirs around Mr. Takumi. But I’ve never heard any stories about people being attacked by them. They are not like orcs…who attack as soon as they see you.”
“Well, even a trained human would not stand a chance against them if they were attacked. I’ve encountered them a number of times, and they will not attack as long as you don’t do anything.”
As fenrirs were monsters, there were probably people who attacked them first, and the fenrirs merely defending themselves.
Either that, or the humans saw them hunting and ran away… In any case, I suppose people rarely saw fenrirs that were relaxing peacefully, and so they just spread word about them being dangerous.
Of course, as I watched them, I learned that the fenrirs all had their own personalities. So it was possible that some of them were more violent.
Just like there were humans who were calm and some who were quick to get into a fight.
“That being said, I think there are exceptions.”
“Exceptions?”
“I don’t sense it in any of the fenrrirs here, but they are wild animals… Or wild monsters? In any case, they live in the wild. And so they can become more aggressive. Especially when pregnant.”
“Ah, I see. To protect their children.”
“Yes.”
“If that’s the case, then it can’t be helped.”
It was understandable that they would be more aggressive during such times. It may not be fair to label them as vicious, but it would happen if people just happened to encounter them at that time.
It wasn’t just fenrirs, but other wild beasts too.
Even ones that were usually calm enough to let you touch them.
“You can tell that Fen really cares about his child. Well, most animals are like that.”
The fenrirs had been so scared of Leo that they went to hide in the forest. And yet Fen and Riruru had still come out to look for Sherry.
“Mmm, indeed. Ah, we’ve arrived.”
While we talked about the fenrirs, we arrived at the front of the new house.
Up close it was definitely smaller than the mansion…but still more than big enough.
It was also surrounded by a wall that was about three meters high.
There had also been a path from the gate leading to the house.
Back at the mansion, this garden space was used for plants and preparing horses and carriages.
The main entrance was in the center of the building, and it extended out on both sides for nearly two hundred meters. It would surely take a long time to walk from one end to the other.
…Though, the other mansion was even bigger.
Even if it was a duke’s household, it really was too big for a house…
Judging by the windows, this house was also three stories, but each floor was very high. At least fifteen meters.
That meant Leo would be able to walk inside without a problem…
