The servants greeted us
“Mr. Takumi, Lady Claire. Please wait here for a moment.”
“Uh, yes.”
“Very well.”
“Wuff.”
While we were looking at the house, Ms. Lyra asked us to wait outside.
“Hmm. It is a little small for a new house. But I suppose it is a start.”
Mr. Ekenhart mused as Ms. Lyra opened the door, and the servants went inside.
I had heard that Mr. Ekenhart’s main house was very big, so perhaps other houses would seem small in comparison.
Claire might have the same impression…
“My new life with Mr. Takumi will start here… Oh, I cannot wait!”
Apparently, she was more excited about us living together.
For a moment, I had wondered if I should have asked them to prepare a larger house…but after seeing Claire’s smile, such thoughts vanished.
“It is bigger than the inn, at least. Ah, Takumi. I think it’s a very nice house. Really, I do! Yes. Even though I’ve seen so many houses that dwarf this one.”
“…Your Excellency, that last part was not necesary…”
“Oh, from behind…”
“Haha… Liza, this is your new home. Of course, Leo and I and Claire and the others will live here too.”
Liza was in awe of the size of the house. Yes, she was a good and honest kid. There had been no buildings like this in Ractos, so this reaction was normal. It was the nobles and royals who were strange…
As for Leo, she did not seem particularly interested.
She just sniffed the air and seemed to be checking the surrounding area.
“Mr. Takumi and Lady Claire. We are ready to welcome you…”
The double doors opened wide and Ms. Lyra called out to us.
The servants had taken all of our belongings inside of the house, so that it was only us standing in front of the door.
“Takumi stand right here. Claire, you should be right next to him here. As for Leo… Right behind them.”
“Good Leo is too big to stand between, so that is fine.”
“Uhh…alright.”
“Wuff.”
I was about to walk in after being called by Ms. Lyra, but then Mr. Ekenhart stopped me.
Did they have rules about how you should enter the house?
The doors were so big that we could all walk in at the same time.
“Now, Takumi and Claire. Go in.”
“Hah.”
“Yes.”
Mr. Ekenhart pushed me lightly on the back, and so Claire and I walked to the entrance.
While I was still a little puzzled, Claire nodded with a smile.
There was something like a resolve that I could send from her. Well, maybe that was too much.
Was it eagerness?
“Uh…”
We stood in the entrance together.
Ms. Lyra was on the right, and Ms. Hermine was on the left. They waited.
We then went up the steps of the staircase leading from the main entrance, and just as we reached the top…
“Welcome, Mr. Takumi.”
“Welcome, Lady Claire.”
“Welcome, Mr. Takumi. We have been waiting for you!”
“Welcome, Lady Claire. We have been waiting for you!”
Ms. Lyra and Ms. Hermine greeted us.
And then the servants, who were separated on the right and left sides of the hall, also greeted us in unison.
“Yes, thank you.”
Claire nodded and answered.
I was used to having the servants greet us like that at the other house. But it was still surprising.
On the right, there was Alfred, Gelda, Jane and the servants that I hired.
On the left side, there were the servants that worked for Claire… The cooks and guards were also there.
Our belongings had been left in a pile in the corner… Well, it would not have been possible to put them away in such a short amount of time.
So, the people on the right had greeted me, while the people on the left had greeted Claire…
