Qudels became very annoyed at this, but he merely covered his eyes with his hand and continued to listen to Darten.

 

“Her attribute is water and her symbol is the lotus flower. She was originally supposed to suck in the wicked thoughts of the people and return it to the world as a power that improved productivity.”

In general, gods were supposed to help people.

After all, they were the embodiment of their hopes and wishes.

 

After being born in the heavens, they were able to choose a wish in a certain direction, and by accumulating them, they decide the direction of their own power.

And by making people’s wishes come true, they received feelings of gratitude that helped them grow.

In other words, Moral, goddess of lust, was supposed to be a being that worked for the benefit of humans.

 

“So, how did she end up like that?”

“I don’t really know myself. But I heard that she can taste the evil thoughts that she sucks from people. And the salacious ones were her favorite. I think she became addicted to them… In other words, she is like an alcoholic who is out of control?”

And so she didn’t know how to restrain herself, and sucked in too much of it. That resulted in the destruction of a country. This story was worse than Qudels had anticipated, and he covered his face in both hands.

 

“So, she was supposed to purify people of greed, but was unable to control her own. These gods…including the one in front of me, do not take things seriously. Yes, this has really ruined my impression of the gods.”

“Ah. I’m totally sorry about that.”

Darten looked away awkwardly and scratched his head.

That being said, when it came to the inability to control oneself, Qudels was not much different. Of course, Darten was wise enough to not point this out.
