Paintbrush Summoner – 86

Chapter 86 – Z Declares the End of the War

“Good work!”

The Magikargia commander and Nadar general were taken to the top of the giant spear.

After they had arrived at the base, as planned, Kanon picked them up as if they were toys, and carried them to the top.

The commander was quite pale after seeing Kanon, but the general had already lost consciousness.

And then Ralph and Mofusen said those words to it. They sounded very casual.

“First, we better wake him.”

Menew opened the lip of the potion and poured it on the general. And like that, he regained consciousness.

The commander was stunned.

Why would you use such an expensive and luxurious potion just to wake someone up? He still could not move his limbs. And he did not know who these men were. But he was so shocked that he nearly shouted.

“Mofusen. Remove the barrier, please. Get up, general!”

And like that, the commander could feel his limbs again. It was so sudden. He did not want to experience it ever again.

The general tried to reach for his sword as he got up, only, it was no longer there.

“So, you two. Where do you think we are?”

Menew asked as he pointed around them. He was wearing his Mystery Mask Z and seemed to be enjoying himself.

The five humans were above the clouds. When they realized this, the two fell back on their haunches.

“Yes, you would be scared. You cannot run away or get down by yourself. Understand? Now, allow me to continue.”

Once he assured them that resistance was futile, Menew continued in a calm voice.

“The Mystery Masks are the winners of this war. And so both armies must withdraw. Also, this wall will be the new borderline. It is only a few kilometers different, so you should not complain. It is Nadar’s punishment for starting it.”

Both commander and general could only listen in stunned silence.

“So, to make up for the land…and the loss of food, though, that part was not true… I will give you this.”

Menew squatted in front of them and put his hands on the ground. And then a large hole opened up.

It was filled with grains.

And then Menew traced the hole with his finger and it closed up again.

“If you are ever in serious need, both countries can share this. But the grain will only come out of this spear when you are in actual trouble. And during such times, the supply will be infinite. That is how it works.”

That is what he had been doing on the top. Modifying one of the spears.

“So…then… A peace treaty. Take it back and your kings sign it. Ah, by the way, you have no option to refuse. And if you try…”

Mask Z added casually.

“If you try to battle again, I will bring my entire army.”

Menew said as he patted the spear.

A chill ran down the spines of the two men.

If such spears rained down again, they could destroy an army in the blink of an eye.

The battlefield would be gone.

“I-I understand…”

“Understood…”

“Alright then. Kanon. If you please.”

Said Menew, and then Kanon howled.

And like that, except for the one they were standing on, the wall of spears turned into particles and disappeared into the treaty.

“A-a promise with the world…!”

The Magikargias commander understood it.

It was not something they could do, even if they wanted to. The field was still being studied.

You could not go against it. Physically. Your fate was decided.

“That is how it is. Now, let us descend then.”

He told them to not drop the documents as Kanon picked them up.

“I’ll take them back.”

Menew said to Ralph and Mofusen as he climbed onto Kanon’s back. And then they descended.

“Hahaha! I thought I could be quite vicious, but I was no match for Menew.”

“I don’t know if I would use that word… It’s much worse.”

“Well, perhaps. It is not like the wickedness of a child. But more…”

“He doesn’t understand his own power. …Though, he does try.”

The two could only smile wryly as they watched them leave.

“I have high hopes for him.”

“Yes.”

Menew had no idea they were saying such things as he returned the leaders of both armies. And then he went back to the top of the spear.

“Ahh, I’m tired. Let’s go back now.”

He was merely tired after ending a war in less than half a day.

And so they left the giant spear and returned to the hill where the carriage waited.

On the ride back, Menew slept soundly.
