“Aren’t you scared…Sheto? Seeing something like that, so close to you?”
“Scared. But, hunting, is just as scary. When the boar comes, it passes just as close. Your heart, jumps in chest.”
In spite of having looked quite calm, Sheto chuckled as if to assure Keita.
“Everyone scared, during a hunt. But if your job is done, right, then it is less scary.”
“…I see.”
‘Don’t worry. My Ganari is brilliant. As long as you follow orders, there is nothing to fear.’
“Ganari?”
Sheto looked a little embarrassed by the question. He wiped the blood off of his blade and turned back to the dungeon.
“Don’t worry about that. More importantly, I am worried, about Fi and Guto.”
‘From her, I will focus on watching the area surrounding the dungeon. Canila will be watching the inside. But call me if something happens.’
“Very well. Let’s go, Keita.”
“Ye…yes!”
As Keita chased after Sheto, he felt an excitement that he had never experienced before.
For the first time since coming to this world, he was going to form a party and enter a dungeon. While it was certainly a strange party, he had his own role, and they were going to have an adventure.
“…Canila.”
‘What is it?’
Keita whispered as he created a small light that floated in the air.
“This might be inappropriate, but… I’m a little excited to do this.”
‘Well…you are a boy, after all.’
Canila laughed a little sadly.
“What do you mean?”
‘You must help Sheto and do your best, that is all. My Hero.’
Keita blushed.
“Keita! There are no enemies, here! Let’s go!”
“Al-alight!”
Keita looked up at the kobold’s voice, and then shook his head as if to cool off. And then he started to run.
While looking at his subordinates who gathered in the magic stone room, Shelban grinded his teeth.
There were approximately fifty monsters stationed here. And ten of them were outside. On top of that, some monsters were working traps, and there were golems who could not move on their own. So that there were only about thirty soldiers he could command.
“The soldiers sent to the surface were also defeated. Not only that, but the enemy is storming past traps and treasures and headed directly towards us.”
Reported the sorcerer, who used the magic energy from the stone to search the dungeon. Apparently, the enemy was split into two groups. To scout and create a diversion.
“I sensed a great release of energy near the entrance. There must be a user of light magic.”
“The Lindle Hero! Could it be that he is commanding the kobold now!?”
Ever since receiving the order from Berganda, he had felt that he was being thrown into something that made no sense.
He could not understand what was happening around him. That being said, he knew what he had to do. Protect the dungeon with his life.
“Magicians, create defense barriers and then focus on summoning! The defense team will be positioned near the back of the hall with the shields. The rest of you, shoot with arrows! Do not approach this room until the ceremony is finished!”
Shelban gripped his staff tightly as he watched them leave.
He just hoped they could buy enough time, until the main army arrived.
“You’re late! I was so scared that we’d be caught!”
When they reached the small room at the bottom of the stairs, the wolf and small dragon poked their heads out from the shadows. There were pots and shelves in the room, which had the smell of herbs, oil and trash.
“…Fi, Guto. Why do you…stink?”
“Who cares about that! If you have complaints, tell it to this damned dog.”
“Grrrr.”
Sheto guessed what had happened, and did not question them further as he approached the back door.
“A lot of them have gathered in the large room over there.”
He could see rows of goblins hiding behind shields, as well as those with bows. It was a perfect line of defense, as if they would not allow the enemy to take one step further.
“Amazing…I think there might be twenty of them?”
“No, I counted earlier. There are only sixteen. There must be another in the room with the magic stone. But the door is shut, so I couldn’t tell with the camera.”
“Should I take a look then?”
Keita said while raising his staff. But just then, the small dragon’s body began to sway.
“Ah…gah…wh-what is…this…!”
“Huh!? What, happened?”
The small dragon wailed while holding his horns as if in pain. This had happened before when he saw the Demon King’s castle.
