Chapter 100 – There Are Gods!?

“Well then, please let me know when you wish to leave.”

“Thank you. We will be here for about three days, so you can do what you want.”

Thanks to the Ling’s reference letter, which Kara carried, they were able to enter Ramsteris with ease. They then went to an inn, which Ling had also recommended.

There were numerous tall, stone buildings here, which reminded Menew of the concrete jungles of his old world.

However, the air here was completely different.

Menew felt like he was in an empty museum.

After securing their rooms at the inn, they decided to walk around the city.

The streets, both large and small, were orderly and clean.

As everything seemed to be made of stone here, the grayish white color was almost blinding. The scarabs also seemed more quiet here than other places. But maybe it was just his imagination.

They did not feel like talking while they walked in such a place. As they continued to walk down the main street, Menew heard a voice inside of his head.

(Mr. Menew. Continue straight here, and then go to the church around the corner.)

Seker. He almost said the name out loud, but held back. That was how ‘close’ the voice was.

When he raised his head, he saw a large church at the end of the street.

Menew ran towards it without saying anything. The others rushed after him.

“Hello!”

Menew said as he burst through the doors. Inside, He saw Seker, standing there in white robes.

“Seker!”

“Mr. Menew. I’m glad that you have come.”

“But why!? No…huh!?”

Menew rushed forward, and happily hugged Seker, who then touched Menew’s face with his hands and patted him on the head.

“Hmm. Yes, you seem well. It is proof that you have been living a civilized life.”

“Aha. That tickles. Stop it.”

That’s when the others arrived.

“Menew…? Is that the man? That you are acquainted with.”

“Ah, Ralph. Sorry for leaving you behind. I was called and… Ahh!”

Menew hesitated, but saw that Seker just laughed and nodded.

“This is the god, Seker. Seker, these are my friends, Ralph, Totto, Mofusen, Mr. Wal, and Kanon. And that is Stan, hiding behind the ropes.”

“I know. I was watching you the whole time.”

Seker bowed gracefully.

Aside from Menew, the humans had no idea what was happening here.

Totto was the first to react.

“A go-god…?”

“Yes. Young Totto, you have worked very hard. Are you enjoying life now?”

Seker said with a smile, not even trying to hide his godly aura.

Now that he was not dressed like a gentleman, Menew realized just how much he did look like a god.

Seker made them all side down, and then he stood at the podium and bowed gracefully once more.

“I am Seker, the god of the underworld and of the arts. I am sure you have heard of me before?”

Ralph and Mofusen straightened their backs. They must know then.

At the same time, tea and sweets suddenly appeared in front of everyone.

“I thought that you would not believe me unless I did something like this.”

There were colorful macarons, cake and tea. Only Mofusen was given mochi, sweet bean jelly and green tea. 

Seker had his own afternoon tea set, and he gracefully took a sip from his cup.

There was also another bowl. Menew asked about it, but Seker shook his head. It was a secret for now.

“So, as for the reason that I wanted to meet all of you…”

“Sorry, I’m late!”

A voice echoed from above, and then a man landed on the ground with a great thud.

He was wearing similar white robes as Seker. He was a big man that must have been around two meters tall.

He had red, braided hair, and looked rather intimidating. His eyes were strong, and seemed to change color in the light.

“We have just finished with introductions. Now it is your turn.”

“Aye! It’s good to meet you, Menew. And the rest of you! I am Horus! Chief of the gods!”

He said while banging his fist against his chest. Menew’s eyes widened in surprise.

“Hmm? Is Set not here too?”

“Set is in a dungeon right now. As there is a new one here.”

As they chatted like this, the others finally came back to life.

“Chief god Horus!?”

“This is what happens when you live long enough…”

“E-even I know that name!”

“Woah, Horus-tan is a big man…”

One of them was shocked because he was used to seeing the girl version. Seker’s appearance was already a miracle, but their surprise only grew.

Regardless, Horus laughed boisterously and sat down.

“So, did you tell them?”

“As I said, we only just finished with introductions.”

“I see. Then I will tell them.”

Seker drank some of his tea and then looked serious at the surprised party.

“I want you all to help Menew.”
