Strange Dragon – 181

Chapter 181 – The Adventurers and the Land Sharks

It was not just Boaboa in the house, but Victor and Kelly were there as well.

As were Fio, Shiro and the wolf cubs.

Shiro and the cubs seemed to be playing with Boeboe.

Dragon had also arrived after flying ahead.

As for the land sharks, Bemubemu was the only one who had met Boaboa.

And so in order to prevent them from getting too scared, I gave them a warning before we were too close.

“That big one is Boaboa. And the small one is Boeboe.”
“Bemu!”

Just like Bemubemu, the land sharks were not afraid.

When we got closer, Victor and Kelly walked towards us.

“Good work.”

“I see there were a lot of them.”
“Yes, they had survived. And since they want to move here, I brought them with us.”
“That’s a great idea. Everyone, my name is Victor.”

“I’m Kelly.”
“I’m Ije.”
“Fio!”
“Grau!”

“Bubui!”
“Bue!”

‘Friends!”

“Au.”

‘Ruru.’

“Bemu-bemu!”

The land sharks got down from Hippolius’s back and they all greeted the others.

As the land sharks had worked with Ije’s tribe, they seemed to take to her immediately.

“Could you tell me what happened after that?”

Victor asked.

He had heard some things from Kelly and Ijea already.

However, just in case, I told him in detail from the very beginning.

While we were talking, the wolf cubs started to play at my feet, and so I sat down.

I petted the wolves on my lap as I explained.

Hippolius also shrunk down and joined them.

“Bemu.”
“You too, Bemubemu.”

Kelly looked a little jealous as all of the small creatures gathered around me.

She then asked about the behaviors of the land sharks, and so I explained.

How they were herbivores, and about their nest. I told her what I knew.

“The land sharks are…”
“Land sharks?”

“Aye, that is what I call them. Because they look like sharks and they live on land.”
“Hmm. It’s a good name.”

Kelly had called Hippolius a sea hippo. And so she liked this name as well.

“In other words, they want to make this place their new home?”
“Bemu!”

“That’s right. However, it should be a place where they can make a sugar beet field as well…”
“In other words, they have to choose the spot to plant them first.”
“Yes. So until that is decided, I think they should stay in one of the empty sick houses.”
“That’s a good idea. There is room right now.”

As we talked of such things,

“Bemu!”
“Bubui!”

Boaboa and the land sharks entered the house.

Ije, Fio and Shiro were with them.

“Are Boaboa and the land sharks friends?”

I wonderd. And then Bemubemu, who had stayed, answered.
“Bemu!”
“Hmm. So you did have a connection to them. How so?”

“Bemu-bemu.”

Apparently, they had not met directly.

But both sides were on good terms with Ije’s tribe.

The land sharks would eat all the weeds in an area, and then Boaboa would roll in the empty dirt.

After that, the sugar beets would be planted. It was a cycle.

“I see. Would they want to live in Boaboa’s house until the new place is decided?”
“Bemu.”

Apparently, they did.

As we talked of such things, the land sharks came out of the house.

“Bemubemu.”
“Here?”
“Here.”

“Bemu.”

Fio translated for the land sharks and then told Ije.

And then they began to eat the weeds in a spot where Ije had given her permission.

They were not as fast as goats. Perhaps land sharks had small stomachs.

“Ije. Is this the place they want to turn into a field?”
“Yes! Good soil. It seems?”
“I see. So they will clear the area by eating the grass first.”
“Perhaps they choose the size based on how much they can eat from harvest to planting.”

Kelly muttered while taking notes.

“You can eat too, Bemubemu.”
“Bemu!”

Bemubemu went off to eat grass.

“What about the sugar beets? Where should they be buried?”
“Bemu…”

Apparently, he was thinking about that now.

They took this very seriously. The storage of the sugar beets.

“Well, just tell me when you decide.”
“Bemubemu!”

After that, the land sharks continued to eat grass for some time.
