Chapter 128 – Anamoly Report 2
“…So, the god Set just happened to appear in this world and negotiate between us and the water spirit Caprichio.”
On the following day, Menew and the others visited the guild. As Sety had already gone, it was just the four of them now.
They were led to the Guild Master’s room, and then Menew gave the explanation that he and the gods had agreed on the previous night.
As Menew was bad at talking, it ended up taking quite a long time. But he was finally about to finish his report.
“…In other words, because of Caprichio, it has started to function as a dungeon once again?”
“That should be the case. But we only wanted to meet the spirit, so we didn’t go down and confirm…”
After pondering this with a serious expression for some time, the Guild Master slapped his knee.
“Very well. I will send some trusted Adventurers to go and confirm it then. After that, we can decide whether or not to open it. …You did well with the aftermath of the battle, and so I trust you.”
Menew sighed with relief. In spite of his awkward words, he had been able to give a satisfactory explanation.
While he did not speak about the water spirit and the dragon, most Adventurers only entered dungeons for treasures or leveling up. So it should not be a big problem.
Menew was connected to Caprichio and Quelle. He even knew where they were, but purposely cut them off mentally, as he would easily get too absorbed and lost in the vast sea.
The human world was not concerned with the fact that they were running away from Apep. Ralph and the others knew this as well, and so they stayed silent.
“Well, I think that it’s time we head over to a different town…”
“If you’re going to do that, allow us to throw a farewell party. There are many people who you helped. They will riot if they do not get to see you off.”
In fact, what happened the other day was the Guild Master’s fault. However, judging by how they were welcomed, it was likely true that leaving without saying anything would be a bad idea.
“Do you have plans for the next town?”
“We want to go to a place with an ancient dungeon…”
“In that case, you should choose Nadar. Toromerai is in a place connected to the back of Nadar. Do you know about the Nadar mountains?”
The kindly Guild Master Van told them about a dormant volcano. Behind Nadar mountain lies the vast Vala Forest. Due to the differences in elevation, when the volcano erupted, lava flowed toward the Nadar side. The lava had enriched the land, which resulted in Nadar becoming known as an agricultural powerhouse.
Van quickly wrote them a letter of introduction, so they just had to show it at the Nadar Adventures Guild.
“By the way, I’m raising all of your ranks to A. After all, didn’t you raise it to C in order to go dungeon crawling?”
“Well, I suppose. But I’m not really interested in ranks…”
“There are dungeons that you cannot enter unless you are A-Rank or above. Even if you have no intent of going to such places, you did the work of a hundred men for us. So it’s only right. I’ll have the plate issued, so just wait a moment.”
While it was a surprise for Menew and the others, it was not a bad thing either.
After all, it would be troublesome to have to think about raising their rank in the dungeon.
“Uh, in that case… While she is not here right now, could you issue one for Sety as well?”
“Ah, that lady. Alright. She did help with the work, after all. Could you pass it to her if you meet her then?”
“Yes!”
Sety was traveling to do different dungeons. And since she was B-Rank no, she might be working to raise it.
If what Set said was true, they would likely meet Sety in Nadar.
Like this, they accepted the five Adventurer plates, Menew and the party left the guild after being told to gather in the town plaza that night.
“A-Rank, huh? How nostalgic. Though, it was mainly because of Menew.”
Mofusen chuckled as he looked at his plate.
He had once been a famous, high-ranking Adventurer. And so he had not thought that he would rise to this rank in his old age.
“Well, we know you have the ability to deserve it. But Totto, even if you are A-Rank now, you must not try to fight monsters by yourself.”
“Yes! But if there are forests that only allow A-Rankers, I would like to go there and forage.”
“If that is the case, we will go with you. After all, we are in no hurry.”
“Indeed. We will go where we want at our own pace.”
They talked as they made their way to the Farming Guild.
Upon noticing them, Ellie moved away from her documents and moved closer.
“What is it? Is there a problem?”
“No. But we will be leaving soon. Apparently, there will be a farewell party for us. So I thought that you might like to come.”
“Oh, you’re leaving already then? I guess I’ll have to see you off. Well, I will tell the others in the guild then. You should prepare for the journey until it’s time.”
“Ah, that’s right. We should buy some supplies. Thank you, Ellie. See you tonight!”
“Aye, see you later!”
When that was done, they rode Arty’s gondola and bought food from different street stalls.
Even fresh fish would stay fresh in Menew’s pouch. They bought a lot, as Mofusen preferred it to meat.
According to the map, they would be returning inland in order to reach Nadar. If they followed the main road, they could stop at Ramsteris, and so they decided to check in there.
While talking to a god was nothing special for Menew, the others thought it was miraculous.
And they wanted to meet him again if they could. Totto had taken a liking to the treats he had eaten, and was hopeful they could get it again.
Like that, as they purchased supplies and talked about their journey, it became noon in no time.
