Liza was sleepy after eating
After we finished eating lunch and cleaning everything up, Claire and Sebastian climbed into the carriage along with the others so that they could talk.
Sebastian was very enthusiastic. This was because he had spoken with Deurgo directly, and would also be staying behind in order to take care of Tilura.
More and more people in Ractos were trying to acquire familiars.
I was interested in what they were saying…but would just have to ask Alfred about it later…
As for where we set up camp, it was a short distance away from the main road, close to the forest between Ractos and Range village.
It was also a forest with monsters, but since it was close to the mountain where Rahle used to live, there was little danger… Besides, it was hard to fear anything in the wild when you had dozens of fenrirs with you.
Rahle also reassured us that we would not be attacked here.
“When seeing them like this, it’s easy to forget that they are supposed to be vicious monsters… It almost looks like we are in a dog park. Well…ignoring the fact that they are way too big to be dogs.”
While the others prepared to continue the journey, I climbed onto Leo’s back and looked at the other fenrirs around us.
They had eaten lunch and were rolling around playing with the children.
Some ran around while others were licking each other’s faces and relaxing.
If you looked long enough, you could see that they all had their own personality.
Now that I thought about it, I had never actually taken Leo to a dog park, even though I had been thinking about it… Because I was so busy.
“Sorry, Leo. I was never able to take you to the dog park. Not even once.”
“Wuff? Wuff-wou-wou.”
“Really? Haha. I see.”
Leo assured me that she always had fun, because she was with me. And so she wasn’t upset about it.
Though, she probably didn’t even know what a dog park was.
“Oh, are you tired, Liza?”
The sun was high in the sky, and there was a comfortable breeze. Also, being full after eating had probably made her sleepy, as she was yawning.
“Mmm…”
“Haha. You can sleep if you want to. I’ll hold you so that you don’t fall off.”
“Uhh…but we’re finally riding together…”
“Don’t worry. You can take a nap and there is still plenty of time before we reach Range Village. Besides, once we are there, we will also have opportunities to ride Leo together. So there’s no need to stay awake now.”
“Oh…okay. Promise!”
“Yes, it’s a promise.”
“Zzz…!”
Well, she really had been fighting her hardest to stay awake…
“Leo. Can you run so that you don’t wake her up?”
“Wou.”
Leo nodded.
And so when the other carriages and fenrirs started to run, Leo moved more slowly so as not to rock us while we were riding.
Of course, there was still some shaking, but it was a lot less than usual.
—
“Grau. Gau-grau.”
“Wuff-wou.”
“Hmm. Hmm. It’s fun to leave the forest and run with everyone out in the open, eh?”
About half an hour later, I occasionally talked with the fenrirs while supporting the sleeping Liza.
Leo would interpret for me while running next to them.
Most of the fenrirs had no complaints, and seemed to like being out of the forest.
I suppose it was fun, being able to run without having to avoid crashing into any trees or other obstacles.
