My Beloved Dog is the Strongest in Another World – 1302

We talked about the requests of the fenrirs

“How was it, Mr. Takumi?”

“Ms. Lyra.”

I rode around on Leo and spoke to the fenrirs for some time. But as it would take too long to listen to all of them, I stopped after about twenty.

And then shortly after, Ms. Lyra came up to our side while riding on Riruru.

“Indeed… Most of the fenrirs seemed to be quite satisfied with their situation and how they were treated at the mansion.”

I told Ms. Lyra about what I had heard from the fenrirs.

They thought the food was delicious, and the amount was satisfactory. They liked being petted and thought it was fun to run while carrying people.

Aside from Feri, Fen and Riruru, most of these fenrirs had only just started to be around humans.

I had decided to talk to them like this, in order to find out if they had any requests.

Things were still not decided yet, such as whether I would be handling the fenrirs or Claire.

Claire and Sebastian seemed to think that I should be in charge of them. That was fine… And since they would be similar to employees, I thought I better talk to them like employees.

Especially since I had thoughts in regards to the management of fenrirs… There were people like Deurgo, who just wanted to use familiars for their own gain.

Claire and Mr. Euto were still talking inside of the carriage.

It might be difficult to find answers that satisfy both humans and monsters equally, but it was good to try.

“As they will be similar to employees…I want to listen to what they each have to say.”
“Fenrirs do have their own opinions. We humans cannot just force them to do what we want if we want a long lasting relationship of cooperation. So I think your way of thinking is wonderful, Mr. Takumi.”

Ms. Lyra said with a smile.

I was glad to hear her say that. It made me feel more confident.

“Thank you.”
“Wuff-wuff!”
“Good Leo seems to be agreeing with you as well.”
“Wuff!”
“Hahaha…”

Leo was actually just saying that it was fun to be with everyone. But Ms. Lyra misunderstood her.

“Ah, that’s right.”
“What is it, Mr. Takumi?”

There had been just one important thing that the fenrirs had requested, and so I had to tell her.

“The fenrirs wanted a place with a roof over their heads, to keep them out of the rain while they are visiting the mansion.”

“I see… While some can stay in the stables, the others have to be outside, and there are not enough trees to provide protection.”
“Some of the fenrirs like being in the rain. But it can also be quite cold.”

As fenrirs were good with ice magic, they were generally quite tough when it came to cold weather.

Still, it would not be good to get too cold…

“Wou…”

“That’s right. Leo doesn’t like getting wet either… Except when playing in the river.”

Once, Leo had run in the rain towards Ractos.

As it was a rare occasion, she had actually enjoyed it.

But in general, she did not like the rain.

When she was a maltese, she did not want to go on walks when it was raining outside.

“I suppose we should make a place for the fenrirs to rest, once we reach Range Village. Would that be possible?”
“Range Village has lots of empty space near the forest, so it should be possible. Though, the west side of the village might be too close to the road…”

“Then the north side… How about to the north of the area where the herb fields will be? I think the fenrirs will like it if it is closer to the forest.”

Not only would the fenrirs like being near the forest, but they could also be a defensive line for any monsters that might emerge.

It might be a little calculating, but I could see them being good guards.

Though, it all depended on them liking the place…
