Day 129: Swarming… Wriggling.
Holy Era 6102, Month of the Moon Sheep, 20th day.
Weather: —
We have been exploring the first floor of the coastal cave dungeon since yesterday.
This time, we planned to reach the fifth floor.
With this party, it should be alright for us to go that far.
After all, we could deal with up to three giant crabs without really being in danger.
Up until now, our party didn’t really have a proper tank.
So now that Ms. Mia had joined, we were a lot more stable during combat.
Balance really was important in a party.
Ms. Mia… Maybe instead of this being temporary, you should just continue on as an Adventurer?
I thought as we finished the fourth fight of the day.
Now we have defeated a total of twelve giant crabs since yesterday.
Also, Ms. Mia’s capabilities had gone up considerably after getting new equipment.
She had even stopped two of the giant crabs all on her own.
Her defense ability had already been quite high, but the armor raised it even more.
I suppose the red armor was first-rate in terms of functionality, in spite of appearances.
Apparently, it came with various defense and body strengthening enchantments.
As long as you didn’t mind the appearance, it was even better than heavy armor.
…But it really was just a bathing suit… That’s why magic is so ridiculous!
In any case, at least it was money well spent. Really.
After that, we fought a few more times until we reached the entrance to the second floor.
In terms of the environment, this dungeon was pretty comfortable, and so we still had plenty of energy left.
Though, the floors were larger than expected, which did make me feel a little anxious.
They seemed much smaller on the map…
At this point, I was not sure we would really make it to the fifth floor as planned.
As I stopped and wondered about it, Ms. Mia purred and started to walk on her own.
Hah… I suppose we should just go as far as we can.
Unless something surprising happens, it will likely be fine.
And so we continued to the second floor.
In terms of the structure, it was mostly the same as the previous one, and looked like a cave.
Though, the temperature did drop a little. But that was better than it being hot.
After all, it did not deplete your energy much.
As we continued to walk, I heard the rustling of footsteps…
Numerous footsteps… For some reason, I had a bad feeling about it.
I gulped and walked cautiously, and then it appeared. Countless dark masses writing on the wall.
Swarming…rustling…
I got goosebumps in an instant. Ms. Mia’s tail began to stand up.
It’s! It’s! Those quick bugs you often see at the port!
But they are huge! …Uh, let’s quietly retreat.
We can’t be noticed by them. Not only are they gross, but their numbers are too many.
Slowly, without panicking…
However, a sudden metallic noise rang in the cave.
Who did that!? Who made that noise!?
Just as I turned around, the bugs started to move at once.
…! We let out a soundless scream and began to run.
This is the worst! The absolute worst! Everyone, run!!
While being chased by the swarm of bugs, our dungeon exploration continued.
