I remembered a plant that can be used as hair oil
“And so I have no choice but to use other, more time-consuming methods…”
“I see…”
Did it smell because the oil was derived from animals? That seemed likely, if it attracted monsters.
I knew of hair oil made from horses, so it was probably similar to that.
Were there no oils made from plants here?
“Camellia oil…should smell nice, but then again…”
I muttered to myself.
My aunt had used it, and it had a rather distinct scent.
And some people might not like it… Even though it might be better than the hair oil used here.
Also, I didn’t know if monsters would like it or not.
It was supposed to be calming… Had my aunt been that calm?
“Camellia oil, Mr. Takumi?”
“Hmm? Ah… It’s oil from the seed of a flower…”
Claire looked at me questioningly. Even Ms. Lyra and Ms. Lugretta was interested now.
“If it is taken from a flower, then it must smell nice.”
“Hmm… Some people think so, but it’s not for everyone. Even though it’s good for your hair. It was used a long time ago in the place that I’m from.”
While they looked at me with expectation, I did not give them any hope.
Still, it had been used for a very long time. Maybe even a thousand years…?
But even if it was effective, I couldn’t recommend it because of the scent.
It wasn’t like it was bad for you, you could even use it for cooking.
And so there shouldn’t be any… Hmm?
“Mr. Takumi?”
“Ah, sorry. I just thought of something…”
“Is it related to this Camellia oil?”
“Yes. Though, not really related to hair…”
A lot of my knowledge came from my aunt, but there were many holes in my memories… Besides, I had never used the oil myself.
And so while I told them that I would have to do some research later, I told them what I remembered regarding the oil.
As a cosmetic… For instance, it might be able to help Ms. Helena’s dry skin.
In other words, it could be used for skin care.
“You can use the Camellia oil all over your body…I mean, anywhere you want. Not just your hair.”
“Anywhere…that is amazing!”
Claire was getting excited.
I later learned that cosmetics were quite expensive in this world.
You have to be wealthy like Claire in order to be able to use them every day.
Also, there was a large variety of products to use, so something that could have multiple purposes would be very useful.
Regardless, in spite of bringing it up, I did not actually know if I could make such a thing. I would have to figure out a way to extract the oil…
As for whether or not I could actually make the Camellia plants, that should not be a problem for me.
Previously, I had made them with Weed Cultivation.
Well, to be precise, it was a similar flower.
“I now have a lot of things I want to test once we arrive at Range Village.”
I didn’t know if I would succeed. And yet I had just made more work for myself…
Still, after seeing Claire, Ms. Lyra and Ms. Lugretta looking at me with such expectation, it was hard to not give it a try…
