Day 144: Sway from side to side!

It’s swaaaaying! The ship is swaying!
Ah…I feel like I’m going to vomit.
Currently, the Adventurers Guild ship, Tormenta, is being battered by a storm just offshore, a short distance from the harbor.
Ugh… I was told that once we dropped anchor, all we had to do was ride it out, but…
This is even worse than when we fought the kraken…I didn’t expect that… Ugh… I feel like I’m going to cry.
Still, they said that this was safer than being at the port.
Apparently, with a ship as massive as this one, certain waves can even smash the quay.
That’s why they anchor offshore…to keep both the ship and the harbor from being damaged…
Hah…but the swaying really is terrible. …We’re not going to sink, are we?
Every time there was a big way, the fear came to me.
But in spite of being in such a situation, Ms. Mia alone seemed happy.
For a while now, she has been smiling while drinking wine.
Around her, there were a few other Adventurers who had not gotten off of the ship in time.
‘A stormy sea surely is exciting! Meow!’…
What was this? Were storms like this normal for people who were raised by the sea?
As I thought about such things, Ms. Noa came out of the guild hall, soaking wet.
Huh!? What happened? Are you alright!?
I frantically ran up to her and offered a dry towel. She turned to me with a tired expression.
‘I can’t believe they made me cast a barrier from that place…’ She muttered.
I had heard that they asked magic users to cast protective barriers…
…But it seems that it was a harsher job than I imagined.
Alright, I’ll put on some hot tea in order to cheer Ms. Noa up.
…Still, how long is this storm going to last?
I am starting to reach my limit.
As I leaned over the table with a pale face, Ms. Nico smiled and approached me.
In her hand, there was a vial with blue liquid…
Ah, it’s this. The usual pattern!
She is going to use me for experiments!?
As I braced myself, she asked, ‘Do you want to drink this?’
‘Drink it and feel refreshed! Full of energy till morning!’ …What is that sketchy sales pitch supposed to be!?
I-I won’t drink it! You hear me!?
Ms. Nico looked disappointed, but she left the vial on the table and walked away.
As I stared at the bottle suspiciously, I noticed that Ms. Nico was watching me from a distance.
She left it on purpose… Grrr! I will not give in to temptation!!
At night, the guild workers prepared a simple meal for us.
There was dried bread, grilled fish and a little fruit.
I didn’t have much of an appetite, but ate the fruit anyway.
Not eating anything was bad for you…
Now then, it was time to sleep in the beds that had been offered to us.
I hope the storm subsides by morning… Really.
