My Beloved Dog is the Strongest in Another World – 1369

The reason was the rare state of the valuable material

“…Hmm. It seems the reason was not what we thought it was.”
“Indeed…”
“What does this mean…?”

After testing it with everyone in the grand hall, we realized that age had nothing to do with it.

Aside from me and Claire, the people who were able to use the dagger and sword were Ms. Lyra, Tilura, Liza, Ms. Chita and Ms. Hermine.

Ms. Hermina was almost the same age as Mr. Ekenhart, and it proved our first theory wrong.

And since I was able to cut it, gender had nothing to do with it either…probably.

Also, Mr. Walter’s results were strange.

He had been able to stab the dagger into the wood, but not cut through it. Still, that was better than Mr. Ekenhart.

Sebastian had looked a little frustrated that Walter beat him at something, but I pretended to not notice.

Fairinette was also curious about it enough to come out of Leo’s fur and give it a try. But she couldn’t even pick up the dagger.

This had been a surprise to Mr. Ekenhart and Mr. Euto. We had forgotten to introduce the fairy to them…

“Ah, I see…”
“Mr. Euto?”

He suddenly raised his voice while we all looked at the table with the weapons.

Had he figured it out? He had not been able to use them either. Perhaps he was just waiting for Ms. Lugretta to do something…

“This thing is filled with magic energy. But…it is not able to be activated like a magic tool. But it’s like a magic spell in itself.”
“Magic? But I don’t sense anything…”

I looked at the dagger again, but could sense no magic in it.

Even though I was able to sense something when using magic tools.

“There is a spell that I call Magic Sight. I’ll say this just to you two, Takumi and Hart. But it’s not a spell for humans to use.”
“Magic Sight? In other words, you used it to see the magic energy.”

Mr. Euto lowered his voice so that only we could hear him.

“Yes, that’s right. And so I can see that this dagger is overflowing with magic energy. And it is the same energy found in that fenrir pup… Sherry, was it?”

“Kyau?”

“With Sherry… Oh, because it’s made from Sherry’s fangs?”

“Yes. The fang of a living fenrir…I think that might be the reason…”

The fang of a living fenrir… Apparently, it was quite common to use materials from monsters to create things other than weapons.

For instance, magic tools. The parts that are charged with magic energy or give the tool a magic function and have runes carved in are often made from monster parts.

Of course, in general…acquiring such parts means that the monster has to be hunted.

In other words, they are dead.

Mr. Euto seemed to think that something different happened because Sherry was still alive.

A single fenrir fang had more magic energy than Tilura… Or so Mr. Euto said.

With so much power, it made sense that some abnormal reaction could occur.

“If they are gathered when the monster is dead, then the fangs usually lose all of their power. In the first place, there is no way to acquire fangs from a living fenrir… Except for special cases like this one. After all, you have so many of them here.”
“…But we wouldn’t be pulling the fangs out from any of them. And we won’t let other people do it either.”

It was one thing if it fell out naturally… But it would be wrong to pull out healthy fangs by force.

It would be painful, and since they had all fully grown, it helped them maintain all of their functions.

If that balance was affected, it could end up having a negative effect on their bodies…
