Strange Dragon – 195

195 – The Reason

“Fenrirs are a type of demon wolf.”

“Is that so? I’ve never heard of them.”

“Neither have I.”

It wasn’t just the young Adventurers, but the veterans as well.

“It’s no surprise. After all, they have only existed in legend.”
“Legend?”
“I have never encountered any either.”

“You too, Victory? What about Mr. Theo?”
“I’ve never seen them. I only read about them in books. I assumed they were either extinct or pure fiction.”

“So did I. And so I am very interested.”

Just then, Gisela came out of the kitchen carrying two cups.

“What about you, Gisela? Have you ever encountered any fenrirs?”
“Hmm? I don’t know. I don’t really take note of such things like species.”
“Uh, that’s true…”

“But if you ask me if I’ve seen demon wolves that look like Shiro… I think I have…”
“Huh? Really?”
“Yes.”

She then sat down next to me and gave me one of the cups.

“Here, Mr. Theo. Some hot water.”
“You prepared it for me? Thank you.”
“Mmm. Good work with Roro.”

We then drank the hot water.

It was not too hot, and so I could drink it comfortably.

“Yes, it’s nice.”
“Hot water can be good.”

“I suppose it’s the water here.”

There was no tea on the new continent.

Perhaps someone had brought some with them. Regardless, it would be quite rare.

And so we just drank hot water here.

And while it was not the same, it was still nice.

“Yes, thank you.”

We sat there and relaxed for some time.

And then, one of the Adventurers opened his mouth.

“Ms. Gisela. Did you fight with this fenrir?”
“I did not fight it. Oh, you were with me, weren’t you, Mr. Theo?”
“Huh?”

While Gisela said that, I did not remember anything like that.

But surely I would remember meeting a legendary demon wolf?

“During the celebrations, the Demon King once took us to the top of a mountain, didn’t he?”

“Maybe…”

There had been feasts for days after Gisela beat the Demon King.

However, we were not partying all day long.

During the day, we did some sightseeing.

“There was someone on the mountain that looked just like Shiro.”
“…”

“You forgot it, Mr. Theo?”

Gisela seemed exasperated. After all, I had also forgotten about Alya.

“No, Gisela. I was pretty sure that it was a spirit. Right, Alya?”
“Yes. A spirit.”

Spirits were very mysterious creatures. Hardly any research had been done about them.

Though, there were some territories that worshiped them like gods.

“Still, it looked just like Shiro?”

“Not at all. Shiro has a body, but spirits don’t.’

Spirits were not animals or monsters. They were not living creatures.

In the first place, they did not exist as physical beings.

“Hmm… But…”

For some reason, Gisela did not agree.

And then Kelly returned.

“Kelly. How was it?”
“Aye, no problem at all.”
“Good. So she didn’t eat anything bad.”

‘Didn’t.’

“Yes. Roro wouldn’t do that.”

Even while playing, Roro was listening to us.

“I see. Very good.”
“Au…”

Kelly smiled and then sat next to Victor.

“Kelly. Was anything in the food that hard to digest?”

Ije asked while offering Kelly some hot water.

“Thank you, “Ije.”

Kelly slowly drank it and thanked her.

“Ije. There was nothing in there that would cause indigestion.”
“Good.”

“Aye. The food you make for the wolf cubs is wonderful.”
“Yes.”

“Though, there is something Mr. Theo and Fio should know.”
“What?”

Fio came to listen as well.

“Yes. If the cubs eat a lot of food, then they must drink a lot of water as well.”
“Hot water?”
“Indeed. Perhaps warm water would be best. It should not be too cold.”
“Okay!”
“Though, demon wolves can shoot fire from their mouths. So I doubt fenrirs can be harmed by hot water.”

Apparently, these cubs were a lot easier to take care of compared to other young animals.
